FIRST LEAGUE WIN FOR BALLYCLARE
Ballyclare 1st XV after losing their first three league games came back in style on Saturday at home to a struggling Belfast High (F.P.) side and won 67-10 with the game halted at least five minutes short of full time. The match was sponsored by Business and Scientific Services and the Clare made several changes with Clotworthy at fly half, Weatherup on the wing, Coburn at prop, Wylie at hooker and McKinstry in the second row. The home side started well as Weatherup raced up to the 22 and Clotworthy kicked ahead. Then Paul Morrow broke from half way and brother Steve went over to score near the corner, conversion wide.

The home side applied the pressure and S.Morrow was in again on the left to lead 17-7. The visitors now lost a man injured. Following a drive by the home pack Weatherup raced in to
score and Clotworthy converted to put Ballyclare into a 24-7 lead at the interval.
