One for all our diaries and one of the biggest bashes that Ards RFC has hosted in many years.

So get those tuxedos dusted down and take a few weeks on the Atkins diet. It is a great opportunity for all members to have one of the nights of the year, and to provide some support for our coach Cois Beukes.
We also want your wives and partners to grace us with their presence and bring some glamour to a night of such occasion.
Just as important the undisputed title of Ards Rugby Club Dance Champion for 2010 will be decided. so guys and girls get in front of those mirrors and sharpen up those steps.
Already a number of other Ulster clubs and celebrity teams are joining us on the 9th, so let’s make this a night to remember.

We are looking at tables based on themes and celebrity teams as well as those provided by our loyal sponsors.

Are you a valued sponsor who wants to entertain some customer’s colleagues or friends? Please put a table together.

Were you a member of a famous Ards team? Please put a table together. Are you a former player who has just been looking for an occasion like this to make some old acquaintances? Please put a table together. Are you a member of the FARLS or a part of the Ladies, Youth or Mini rugby set up at the Club? Please put a table together.

Please don’t wait for someone else to do it. Tell your friends, your wives or partners that the only place to be on Thursday 9th September is the fabulous La Mon House Hotel and Country Club.

Any queries phone Colin McLean on 07856 625011

Many thanks for your essential support.

Wedding
Congratulations to Darren and Lynsey Heron (nee Wallace) on their marriage on Saturday 31st July, at Strean Presbyterian Church in Newtownards.

The bride was absolutely stunning in her wedding gown as ‘Dee’ looking resplendent, just beamed with pride on their big day.

The Ramada Belfast was the setting for the wedding day festivities, which went on well into the wee small hours.

‘Dee’ can now be excused pre-season training as the happy couple jet off on their honeymoon to the Island of Mauritius on Monday, and we wish them health and happiness in their journey of life together as husband and wife.

Commonwealth Games
Former Ards Mini, Michael Dawson, is to represent Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games in the swimming team in India.
The Games are being held in Delhi, between the 4th and 16th October 2010, and Michael will be competing in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Michael is still well connected with Ards through his father Alan, who coaches Minis and big brother Johnny, who is a 1st XV player.

Congratulations and good luck to Michael and the rest of the team and let’s hope for medals galore.

Seniors

There continues to be an excellent turnout at pre-season training as the new season begins to gather momentum. Players are being put through their paces with all sorts of strength and conditioning exercises closely supervised by head coach Cois Beukes.

Seniors training continues on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.45pm and also on Saturdays from 10.30am.

Ladies

Ards new Ladies section showed an increase in numbers at their second training session on Wednesday, and this is very encouraging. Ards hope to be able to turn out a full contact side and a Tag rugby side this season, so come on girls, what’s keeping you.

Ards Ladies train on Wednesday evenings from 6.45pm, everyone welcome.

For more information about joining Ards Ladies section please contact Ross Reid on 07801 848762, everyone welcome.

Youth

Youth pre-season training for the U15s and 17s will commence on Tuesday 10th August at 6.45pm. The U13s will initially train on Sundays from September and more details on this will be made known in the near future.

Mini

The Mini section will be returning to action in early September and more details on this will be made known in due course. In the meantime, summer touch rugby continues at the Club on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm, for those who want to keep in shape.

Ards are looking forward to building on the successes of last season at all levels and to do this they require a strong player base. Anyone who is considering playing for the Club should make themselves available for pre-season training as early and as often as possible and help get the season off to a flying start, everyone welcome.
