Sean Stratton Rugby Festival, Dublin- an Instonian “select” u16 squad had made the finals in Dublin on 28 April after a commanding series of performances in the qualifing rounds which saw them arrive as second seeds for the finals’ day. In the quarter final they saw off a strong Wicklow side 11-7- with a try by Cameron Powell and two penalties by Robert Little. In the semi-final they came up against a Mullingar team that proved just too strong for them. The lost another tight game 13-3 – with Mullingar scoring the only try of the game mid-way through the first half. Instonian came close in the second half but were ultimately thwarted by a determined defence.
