Queens scored a well deserved bonus point with their victory over Navan in the AIL to keep their promotion hopes alive with a well deserved win.

Queens scored six tries – three were scored in the first, in the opening 17 minutes with scores from Jonny Shiels, Ian Porter and Michael Pyper. Porter converted two to give Queens a 19.0 lead at half time.

Queens v Navan

Navan had put Queens under severe pressure in the last quarter of the first half and the opening quarter of the second half, but the defence held firm in a physical game with conditions made difficult with a greasy ball.

Queens then added three more tries, two from that reliable stalwart Michael Ferguson and Shiels got his second with Porter adding two conversions.

Navan scored a consolation converted try to give Queens a deserved 38.7 victory.
