IT JUST GETS BETTER: Saturday 2nd July saw the start of summer beach tag in Portstewart. Tag is a favourite of many to get fit but also have lots of fun and where better to do it than on the beach. The tag competition seemed to bring along the good weather to Portstewart beach where the sun shined all day making it a great day for players and spectators alike.
With eleven teams competing the day was already set off to be a success with a very high standard of tag being seen everywhere. The teams entered onto each sandy pitch with the hope of success with winners appearing in the Cup, Plate, Bowl and Spoon competitions.
The intensity of each game was high with great dives and steps to retrieve tags taking place. Many visitors to Portstewart beach stopped to watch throughout the day and got to witness some super tag rugby. It was a great day out and very entertaining to watch. From the standard seen on Saturday Tag rugby is one to watch in Ulster over the summer.
