Fastbusters, Sex Panther, El Nino, All Stars, Skincredibles, Barbarians & Devenish College Battle It Out @ The Enniskillen Rugby Club Touch Rugby Finals: Report & Pictures + InTouch TV Highlights Now Live A Brilliant Night

Friday night saw the final of the annual Enniskillen summer touch rugby competition. This year the competition saw a slight decrease in numbers competing but that didn’t stop a very competitive finals night. The touch rugby competition is a casual and fun way to ease out of the contact season and prepare for preseason to begin. The competition sees members competing from all areas of the club along with friends and others who are just interested in playing a social summer sport.

The competing teams were Fastbusters, Sex Panther, El Nino, All Stars, Skincredibles, Barbarians and Devenish College.

The finals night was lucky enough to hold off the rain which had deterred attendance numbers in previous weeks. The games were conducted on a knockout basis where the winner went forward. This resulted in El Nino versus the Sex Panthers in one semi final and Fastbusters versus Devenish College in the other. The competitive semi finals saw previous champions Fastbusters face the Sex Panthers in the final.

The game being 7 minutes a side was tightly contested and by the final whistle the end score was a draw. This meant that both teams would go into “Golden Try” extra time with each team losing a player after each minute. Again there was a tightly contested few minutes of extra time until the Sex Panthers Mark O’Shea broke the line and conceded the winning try making the Sex Panthers victorious for the first time in their history.
