Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Round Up Saturday 4th October 2025.
Royal School, Dungannon recently played Grosvenor Grammar School in their annual Chico Cup game with the Royal School, Dungannon team recording a 24-7 victory and thereby ensuring they retained the Chico Cup.
Blake Redmond, with two, James Gibson and Isaac Neill scored the Royal School, Dungannon tries.
James, along with Joel Clarke, each added one successful conversion kick.
The Grosvenor Grammar School points came through a try from William Marsh which was converted by Peter Ward.
On Wednesday 1st October there were Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ U16 Cup, Shield and Plate fixtures played.
In the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ U16 Cup, the Ballyclare High School U16 team played the Ballymena Academy U16 team in a game the Ballymena Academy team won by 15-5.
In the same competition, Belfast Royal Academy played Sullivan Upper School at Roughfort.
The Sullivan Upper School U16 team won this game by 24-10.
In the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ U16 Shield, the Royal School, Armagh U16 team played the Regent House School U16 team in a game the Royal School, Armagh team won by 21-17.
In the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ U16 Plate, the Portadown College U16 team played the Limavady Grammar School U16 team in a game the Portadown College team won by 31-24.
On Saturday 4th October, four Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup qualifying games were scheduled to have taken place.
However, the games involving Bangor Academy 1stxv and Grosvenor Grammar School, Belfast High School and Lurgan College, Cambridge House Grammar School and Carrickfergus Grammar School as well as Foyle and Londonderry College and Antrim Grammar School fell victim to the impact of Storm Amy.
It is hoped that all these postponed Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup qualifying games will be rescheduled and played on/before Wednesday 8th October.
As well as the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Cup games scheduled to have taken place on Saturday 4th October, all nine 1stxv friendly games scheduled to have been played were cancelled due to the impact of Storm Amy.
