Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Round Up Saturday 22nd November 2025.

On Tuesday 18th November, Royal School, Dungannon hosted Bangor Academy in the 2nd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Shield.
The Royal School, Dungannon team won this Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Medallion Shield game by 31-17.
On Wednesday 19th November, the three Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Cup Round 1 games took place.
Antrim Grammar School played Belfast High School in a very closely contested, high scoring game the Belfast High School team won by 43-38.
Foyle and Londonderry College played Portadown College and recorded a 50-10 victory.
Larne Grammar School played Limavady Grammar School in another very closely contested game the Limavady Grammar School team won by 16-15.
On the same afternoon, three 1stxv friendly games took place.
Ballyclare High School played Dromore High School in a controlled game the Ballyclare High School team won by 40-0.
Josh McColgan, Jude Semple, Tom Falls, Harry Martin and Lewis Flynn scored the points for the Ballyclare High School team.
Banbridge Academy hosted Friends’ School, Lisburn and won the game by 20-5.
Max Ireland and Dawson Knox scored the Banbridge Academy tries to which Max added two successful conversion kicks as well as two penalty goals.
Joel Irwin touched down for the consolation unconverted try for the Friends’ School, Lisburn team.
Wallace High School played Royal School, Armagh in a game the Wallace High School team won by 29-22.
Alex Stevenson, Adam Crone, Elijah Herdman and Luka Matchett scored the Wallace High School tries with Alex added the extras to three off the tries as well as converting one penalty kick.
The Royal School, Armagh team scored four tries through Patrick Kellett, Nathan Hamilton, with two, and Sam Gray.
Ben Best was successful with one conversion kick.
Four 1stxv games took place on Friday 21st November.
Bangor Grammar School hosted Down High School at Uprichard Park, home of Bangor RFC, in a game the Down High School team won by 22-10.
The Bangor Grammar School team points came through two unconverted tries from Rory Fulton and Ryan Gowdy.
Down High School scored four tries through Cameron Connolly, Jacob Bradshaw, Joe Bailie and Freddie Harris.
Josh McCaughey added the extras to one of the Down High School tries.
Both teams, their coaches and supporters, would like to thank Bangor RFC for the provision of facilities and hosting the game.
Foyle and Londonderry College hosted Enniskillen Royal Grammar School, in a floodlit game at Foyle College, which finished as a 15-7 victory for the home team.
Thom O’Neill, Shay Grimes and Cian O’Leary each ran in for an unconverted try for the Foyle and Londonderry College team.
Late in the game, Ben Wallace touched down for an Enniskillen Royal Grammar School try which was converted by Sam Paton.
Meanwhile, at Gibson Park, home of Malone RFC, Grosvenor Grammar School played Antrim Grammar School.
The Antrim Grammar School team won this encounter by 22-16.
The Grosvenor Grammar School points came through a try from Matthew Cunningham to which Sam Ferguson added one successful conversion kick as well as three penalty goals.
Jake Quigley scored a brace of tries for the Antrim Grammar School team with Jonah Woolley touching down for a third try.
Isaac Lynn added two successful penalty kicks as well as one penalty goal.
Both teams, their coaches and supporters, would like to thank Malone RFC for the provision of facilities and hosting the game.
Later that evening, the Dub Arena, home of Queen’s University RFC, was the venue when a very large crowd of enthusiastic supporters gathered to watch Royal Belfast Academical Institution play Campbell College, Belfast.
The exciting game saw Royal Belfast Academical Institution record a 29-13 victory.
Adam Boyd ran in for two tries with Benjamin McCarten, Elliott Magowan and Ross Dillon touching down for one try apiece.
Charlie O’Connor was successful with two of his conversion kicks.
The Campbell College, Belfast points came though a try from Harry Wells which was converted by Jack Best, who was also successful with two penalty kicks.
Both teams, their coaches and supporters, would like to thank DJ Creighton, and his staff at Queen’s University RFC, for the provision of facilities and hosting the game.
Just a few 1stxv fixtures took place on Saturday 22nd November.
Coleraine Grammar School hosted Rainey Endowed School in a training type game which saw both teams use extended squads of players.
In the course of the final session, both teams scored three converted tries.
Joshua Hawe and Austin Henry worked hard throughout the training game play scenarios and laid the foundations for Oliver McLean, Joe Coates and Luke McAuley to run in tries for Coleraine Grammar School team in the final ten-minute full game.
Ben Todd added the extras to all three tries.
For the Rainey Endowed School team, players such as Matthew Chambers and Eli Orr worked hard during the training games scenario and laid the foundations for Luke Caskey, who touched down for a brace, and Emmett McNulty who ran in for a third Rainey Endowed School try.
Adrian Martin was successful with all three of his conversion kicks.
Methodist College, Belfast travelled to Blackrock College in Dublin where they played Rockwell College from Cashel, Co Tipperary on the Blackrock College, Dublin 5G pitch.
The Methodist College, Belfast team won the game by 38-12, scoring six tries in the process.
Luca Vericat touched down for two tries with Rhys Hill, Oliver Gartley, Noah Davey and Alex O’Hagan touching down for one try apiece.
Louis Curran was successful with four of his conversion kicks.
Matteo Gutierrez and Archie O’Sullivan touched down for the Rockwell College tries with Cameron Fitzpatrick adding one successful conversion.

Omagh Academy played Wallace High School in a game the Wallace High School team won by 26-13.
Ryan Mitchell scored the Omagh Academy try with Sam Harper adding the conversion alongside two successful penalty kicks.
James Gould, with two, Josh Martin and James Andrews were the Wallace High School try scorers.
Alex Stevenson was successful with three of his conversion kicks.
Royal School, Dungannon played Dromore High School in a game the Royal School, Dungannon team won by 33-19.
James Gibson and Harry Wylie each ran in for two tries with Isaac Neil touching down for a fifth try.
Joel Clarke was successful with four of his conversion kicks.
The Dromore High School team scored three tries through Harry Cromie, Jonny Beckett and Alfie Clarke.
Alfie was also successful with two of his conversion kicks.
The draw for the 2nd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ 2ndxv Cup was recently released.
