Celebrations As Cotton Traders Raise Over £509K For Charity Help for Heroes

Cotton Traders celebrated with Help for Heroes as they reached a significant milestone, raising over £509,000 for the charity partner. The cheque was presented to the charity during the Cotton Traders annual golf day and dinner event at The Mere Resort & Spa, Knutsford on Thursday 1 May.

Cotton Traders has been raising funds for the charity through the sale of its co-branded Help for Heroes clothing range which includes T-shirts, shirts, polo shirts, wash bags and joggers where 10% of the sale price of each item sold is donated to the charity. Cotton Traders also holds various fundraiser events throughout its network of stores along with the annual golf day and dinner event.

The charity partnership was formed in 2011 after Help for Heroes made initial contact and the key objective is for Cotton Traders to raise £1million to kit out the Gym at the Charity’s Northern Recovery Centre – Phoenix House in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire – which plays a vital role in helping to inspire, enable and support wounded, injured and sick servicemen, women, veterans and their families from the North West, North East and Scotland. Help for Heroes also runs other Recovery Centres in Tidworth, Colchester and Plymouth.

Fran Cotton, Cotton Traders founder said: “This is a significant milestone for both Cotton Traders and Help for Heroes. Over the past couple of years we’ve been working hard to raise money for the charity so it can continue to carry out its fantastic support work for those who have suffered in the line of duty. We hope that the £509K raised will help improve the facilities at the Catterick Recovery Centre, and we look forward to the next time we come together to celebrate the one million pound mark.”

Mo Usman, Manager of Phoenix House Recovery Centre said he was delighted to accept such a significant amount from Cotton Traders.
He added: “Since partnering Help for Heroes in 2011 Cotton Traders has worked tirelessly to support our cause – from the sales of merchandise to fundraiser events, they’re always looking for ways in which they can help us and raise funds. We look forward to their continued support and seeing their donation go to great use helping those who have put their lives on their line for our country.”
