With Ulster through to the quarter finals of the Heineken Cup and the whistle blown for the start of the Six Nations, the eagerly awaited fixtures for the 32nd annual Nutty Krust Rugby Floodlit Tournament were announced today at the home of Portadown rugby, Chambers Park. <\/p>\n<p>The prestigious Tournament which kicks off on 23rd February, and played on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in Portadown, will see 15 of Ulster\u2019s finest \u2018U19\u2019 club teams come together to do battle to lift the coveted trophy on 4th May 2011. <\/p>\n<p>As always the draw was met with anticipation and this year\u2019s fixtures, which were drawn by Sir Nigel Hamilton, President of Ulster Branch promise gripping viewing for all rugby fans. 2010 victors Dromore will play Randalstown and tournament hosts Portadown will meet Coleraine ensuring the Nutty Krust Floodlit Tournament is the competition to be pitch side for in 2011. <\/p>\n<p>Sir Nigel Hamilton, President Ulster Branch (IRFU) explains,<br \/>\n\u201cThe Nutty Krust Rugby Floodlit Tournament is extremely important and has a long and illustrious history of young talent coming through the competition. I would like to commend the organisers; Portadown Rugby Club as hosts and Irwin\u2019s Nutty Krust as long term sponsors, as without such sponsorships Tournaments like this couldn\u2019t take place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brian Irwin, chairman of Irwin\u2019s Bakery, who has been primary sponsor of the Tournament since 1979 commented, <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIrwin\u2019s is a keen supporter of grassroots sports development in Northern Ireland across Soccer, Youth Rugby and GAA and we are delighted to continue our sponsorship of the Nutty Krust Rugby Floodlit Tournament. Now in its 32nd year, the Tournament is an institution and continues to foster young talent, such as Irish rugby stars Stephen Ferris and Tyrone Howe, who played in the Tournament as U19s.
