Glen Picken scored a hat-trick of tries and was chosen as  &#8220;man of  the match&#8221;. The other tries came from Craig Clarke, Johnny Sheriff, Johnny McIlwaine and Craig Jordan. Ricky Moore kicked a penalty and three conversions. This was a very good team performance in difficult conditions. There were notable performances from Robbie Williams,  Gareth McKeown and Ricky Moore as well as from Ross Marsden Willy Coulter and Craig Clarke who were  making their season debuts for the team.<br \/>\nOn Saturday 5 February, the 1st XV lost by 24 points to 13 to Dungannon II in the Towns&#8217; Cup. The Carrick tries were scored by Aaron McKinney and Karl Quinn, with Kris James kicking a penalty.<br \/>\nThe 3rd XV beat Cooke III by 18 points to 12. The Carrick tries were scored by Curtis Rea and David Ferris who also kicked two penalties. Jonathon Smyth converted one of the tries. Ian Penny was given the &#8220;man of the match&#8221; award.<br \/>\nThe 4th XV went down to a heavy defeat away to the unbeaten Ballyclare IV.<br \/>\nThe Under 19s were awarded the match against Letterkenny in the Rolland Barr Cup and now go into the next stage as group winners.<br \/>\nThe Youth sides hosted Donegal and won all three age group games.<br \/>\nThe minis hosted Ards and achieved a mixed bag of results.<br \/>\nThis weeks fixtures are:<br \/>\nThursday 10 February<br \/>\n4t XV vs Bangor III, away, KO 7.30<br \/>\nSaturday 12 February<br \/>\n1st XV vs Omagh, home<br \/>\n2nd XV vs Omagh, home<br \/>\n3rd XV vs Ophir II, away<br \/>\n5th XV vs PSNI II, away<br \/>\nUnder 19s vs Randalstown, home in a friendly<br \/>\nUnder 17s, Under 15s and Under 13s away to Clogher Valley<br \/>\nMinis-training<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday evening, the Carrick 2nd XV comprehensively defeated Instonians III by 44 points to nil.
