The club has secured the rugby legend, Jack Kyle, as guest speaker. Jack played out-half in the Grand Slam winning side in the 1948 Five Nations Tournament and is known the world over for his outstanding rugby talent.
Members who require tickets for the night should contact Andy Rowan on 07771578471 to secure their reservation.

ARMAGH PLAYER SCORES AT TWICKENHAM

November past saw Eleven year old Armagh Mini Rugby player, Ryan Johnston, travel to Twickenham where he played for The Newforge Taggers in a demonstration game preceding the England v All Blacks match.
Ryan managed to score a try in this game. Records indicate that the last Armagh man to score at an international fixture was Brian McCall who scored a try against England in the 1980’s.

RUGBY @ THE PALACE GROUNDS OFF AGAIN

Yet, again all rugby fixtures were postponed due to frozen pitches. The first fifteen were scheduled to play a league match with Dromore. The second’s were due to travel to Fivemiletown to play a league fixture with Clogher Valley. Neither game was played adding two more fixtures to the now serious accumulation of games to be rescheduled when the climate improves.
Next Saturday it becomes the first fifteen’s turn to travel to Fivemiletown where they will meet Clogher in a League fixture. Last Saturday’s surprise result when Academy beat Cooke 13-12 at Shaw’s Bridge has split the Qualifying League wide open. Effectively what this means is that if Armagh can beat Portadown in March and concentrate on beating Cooke both home and away the target of promotion is on the cards.
Saturday sees the second’s take on Larne second’s away in the Crawford Cup competition. The third round of the McCambley Cup and second rounds of the Butler Shield are also programmed.

GRAND SLAM HERO TO SPEAK AT THE PALACE GROUNDS Armagh rugby holds its annual club dinner on Saturday 19th February at 8-00 pm.
