{"id":82969,"date":"2015-03-09T09:21:18","date_gmt":"2015-03-09T09:21:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=82969"},"modified":"2015-03-09T09:25:52","modified_gmt":"2015-03-09T09:25:52","slug":"armagh-rugby-coach-calls-it-a-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/armagh-rugby-coach-calls-it-a-day\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING NEWS ARMAGH Rugby Coach Andy Hughes Calls it a Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARMAGH rugby Coach Calls it a Day<\/p>\n<p>Following training on Tuesday evening Armagh\u2019s cherished coach, Andy Hughes announced that he had decided to call it a day with the successful Palace Grounds teams.<br \/>\n\tAndy came to Armagh in season 2008\/09 with a pedigree second to none having been on the AIL winning Dungannon squad of 2001. Prior to this honour he had captained the Irish Schools side, the Irish under 20\u2019s side, the Irish under 21\u2019s side. He also was contracted to the Ulster side having held a development contract for three seasons.<br \/>\n\tWhen Andrew joined Armagh his aims were to gain promotion to the All-Ireland League. He demanded his team play \u2018a style of rugby which is enjoyable to play but also enjoyable to watch.\u2019 he also was very aware of the need to create an atmosphere where sponsors and supporters wanted to  come to the Palace Grounds to support a winning club.<br \/>\n\tAndrew took up the post as a member of the N. Ireland Fire &#038; Rescue Service based in Omagh. Later he married Jenna &#038; moved to live in Carrickfergus. His job later also moved to Carrickfergus. All in Armagh then knew it was only a matter of time until Andrew decided the the mileage spent travelling up the motorway to Armagh was taking it\u2019s toll!<br \/>\n\tIt has to be said that all the players, supporters &#038; club committee wish Andrew, or Andy as he was better known, the very best in years ahead.
