The campaign celebrates Coventry &amp; Warwickshire\u2019 rich, cultural history \u2013 from Sir Frank Whittle to The Specials \u2013 and positions the Club as another reason to be proud of the region.<\/p>\n<p>Running until the end of the season, versions of the <em>Another Local Great<\/em> campaign will be released which celebrate:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>William Shakespeare, born in Stratford-upon-Avon.<\/li>\n<li>Coventry born Sir Frank Whittle\u2019s invention of the jet engine, which was produced in Rugby.<\/li>\n<li>Coventry\u2019s history of industry, including the production of the first tank &#8211; in Coventry in 1915.<\/li>\n<li>Coventry ska band The Specials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nick Eastwood, Wasps CEO, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil now, our marketing has focussed on selling tickets to the opening games at the Ricoh Arena, but we recognise that there is still a lot of work for us to do in order to build and maintain a new fan base in Coventry &amp; Warwickshire, to add to our existing, loyal supporter base. This campaign, along with the work we are already doing in the local community with schools and rugby clubs, is another way we\u2019re hoping to engage with a new audience and turn them into fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe campaign is a little tongue-in-cheek; although we do not wish to be presumptuous, we hope people recognise that Wasps, like Coventry &amp; Warwickshire, has a proud history and has achieved some great things. We are a club with a winning mentality and, while we are very proud to be building our future in Coventry &amp; Warwickshire, we also want to bring the benefits of our success to the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Another Local Great<\/em> campaign, which will feature on outdoor, newspapers, digital and radio advertising\u00a0 across Coventry &amp; Warwickshire from today, was devised by advertising agency BBH Sport and implemented by marketing agency Epsilon.<\/p>\n<p>Wasps next match at the Ricoh Arena is a must-win game against Irish giants Leinster Rugby in the European Champions Cup on Saturday 24<sup>th<\/sup> January, kick off 1pm.
