{"id":71936,"date":"2014-08-26T14:46:05","date_gmt":"2014-08-26T13:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=71936"},"modified":"2014-08-26T14:46:05","modified_gmt":"2014-08-26T13:46:05","slug":"ireland-u18s-girls-sevens-squad-uk-school-games-announced-gooo-shannen-lane-cavan-rfc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/ireland-u18s-girls-sevens-squad-uk-school-games-announced-gooo-shannen-lane-cavan-rfc\/","title":{"rendered":"Ireland U18&#8217;s Girls&#8217; Sevens Squad for UK School Games Announced GOOO Shannen Lane Cavan RFC!!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ireland U18&#8217;s Girls&#8217; Sevens Squad for UK School Games Announced <\/p>\n<p>The Irish Rugby Football Union today (26th August) announced the Ireland Under 18&#8217;s Girls&#8217; Sevens squad to take part in the 2014 Sainsbury&#8217;s UK School Games which will take place in Manchester from 4th \u2013 7th September 2014. <\/p>\n<p>The 12 strong squad were selected after 200 girls, from a wide range of sporting backgrounds including GAA, Hockey, Athletics, Gymnastics, Basketball and Rugby, attended open screening days held throughout the country in April.<\/p>\n<p>The team is coached by Stan McDowell and captained by Jayne Pennefather.  Jane and her teammates Meabh Donohoe, Irene Herlihy and Shannen Lane were part of the Irish squad which finished fourth in the tournament last year.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the team, Stan McDowell, said,<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are delighted to name the squad to take place in the UK School Games in Manchester.
