David Boyd Smyth: Former Ulster rugby skipper who inspired all who knew him<\/h1>\n

David Boyd Smyth will be remembered for his love of sport \u2013 but most of all for his devotion to his family. David died early on June 18 as a result of an illness that he faced with incredible courage and a quiet dignity that has inspired all who knew him.<\/h2>\n

In the months leading up to his death, he penned a synopsis of his life in which he described his proudest moments as “my marriage to Nicky and the births of Alan and Keri”.<\/span><\/p>\n
