{"id":673634,"date":"2022-12-10T16:19:22","date_gmt":"2022-12-10T16:19:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=673634"},"modified":"2022-12-10T16:19:23","modified_gmt":"2022-12-10T16:19:23","slug":"danske-bank-ulster-schools-round-up-saturday-10th-december-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/danske-bank-ulster-schools-round-up-saturday-10th-december-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Round Up Saturday 10th December 2022."},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Round Up Saturday 10th December 2022.<\/h3>\n<p>The draws for the 3rd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Cup and 2nd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Trophy were released on Minday 5th December.<br \/>\nThe results of the draws are as follows; &#8211;<br \/>\n3rd Round Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Cup<br \/>\n1\/Enniskillen Royal Grammar School v Campbell College, Belfast<br \/>\n2\/Ballyclare High School v Banbridge Academy<br \/>\n3\/Friends\u2019 School, Lisburn v Sullivan Upper School<br \/>\n4\/Royal Belfast Academical Institution v Belfast Royal Academy<br \/>\n5\/Ballymena Academy v Royal School, Armagh<br \/>\n6\/Coleraine Grammar School v Methodist College, Belfast<br \/>\n7\/Wallace High School v Omagh Academy<br \/>\n8\/Regent House School v Lurgan College<br \/>\nThese 3rd Round Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Cup games MUST be played on\/before Saturday 17th December 2022<br \/>\n2nd Round Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Trophy<br \/>\n1\/Foyle and Londonderry College v Limavady Grammar School<br \/>\n2\/Grosvenor Grammar School\/Belfast High School v Dromore High School<br \/>\n3\/Portadown College v Bye<br \/>\n4\/Rainey Endowed School v Bye<br \/>\n5\/Bangor Grammar School v Bye<br \/>\n6\/Dalriada School v Bye<br \/>\n7\/Down High School v Bye<br \/>\n8\/Royal School, Dungannon v Bye<br \/>\nThese 2nd Round Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Trophy games MUST be played on\/before Saturday 17th December 2022.<br \/>\nA number of Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup games took place midweek in the lead up to Saturday 10th December when, as well as some Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup Round 2 games, alongside one Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Bowl Qualifying game, the final games in the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Cup Group Stage games, with twenty schools taking part, were scheduled to be played.<br \/>\nOn Wednesday 7th December Down High School 3rdxv hosted Methodist College, Belfast 3rdxv in a Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv 2nd Round game the Methodist College, Belfast 3rdxv won by 47-7.<br \/>\nOn Thursday 8th December Ballyclare High School 3rdxv hosted Royal School, Armagh 3rdxv in the 2nd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup.<br \/>\nThis Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup game proved to be a very exciting, closely contested game which the Ballyclare High School 3rdxv won by 25-21.<br \/>\nOn Saturday 10th December all the 2nd Round Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup games, scheduled to be played, were postponed due to the inclement weather conditions.<br \/>\nThe games involving Ballymena 3rdxv v Rainey Endowed School 3rdxv, Belfast Royal Academy 3rdxv v Campbell College, Belfast, Campbell College, Belfast 4thxv v Regent House School 3rdxv and Royal Belfast Academical Institution 3rdxv v Wallace High School 3rdxv should be rescheduled for Wednesday 14th December.<br \/>\nDue to unforeseen circumstances, involving opposition teams, Royal Belfast Academical Institution 4thxv and Enniskillen Royal Grammar School 3rdxv have gone through automatically to the 3rd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup.<br \/>\nSaturday 10th December saw also the final games in the Group Stages of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Cup competition scheduled to be played.<br \/>\nHowever, the weather took a toll with only two of the ten games played.<br \/>\nIn Group A neither the games involving Cambridge House Grammar School v Dalriada School or Lurgan College v Limavady Grammar School were played.<br \/>\nIn Group B the Dromore High School v Larne Grammar School game was postponed but the game involving Bangor Grammar School and Banbridge Academy was played.<br \/>\nThe Banbridge Academy team won the game by 24-0 which ensured them of a bonus point win in this Group B fixtures.<br \/>\nThe Banbridge Academy team controlled both territory and possession for large parts of the game.<br \/>\nThey took an early 5-0 lead when, following good work from the impressive Darragh Knox, Daniel Hutchinson crashed over the whitewash for an unconverted try with just two minutes on the clock. On the stroke of halftime Noah Myles outwitted the Bangor Grammar School defence before touching down for their second try of the game. Ryan Matthews added the conversion to see the Banbridge Academy team into a 12-0 lead at the interval.<br \/>\nMidway through the second half the Banbridge Academy lead was extended to 17-0 when Tom King touched down for an unconverted try. Five minutes later another unconverted try, this time from Noah Bell, secured the 22-0 bonus point victory for the Banbridge Academy team.<br \/>\nIn Group C the game involving Down High School and Strabane Academy was postponed but Foyle and Londonderry College did play Belfast High School.<br \/>\nThe Foyle College team won the game by 47-17 but the Belfast High School team made them work hard for their victory.<br \/>\nOn the back of good performances from players such as James Gamble and Cahir McKay, the Foyle team scored seven tries in the course of the game. James McKillop ran in for two, with Adam Killeen, Chris Boyd, Adam Woods, Robert Rankin and Finn Curtis each touching down for one try. Adam Killeen capped a fine personal performance with six successful conversion kicks.<br \/>\nAdam Bennett, Robbie McMinn and Alex Montgomery scored the Belfast High School tries with Alex adding the conversion to one of the tries. Players such as Daniel Bennett, Aaron Mitchell and Joey Ashby also impressed with their performances for the Belfast High School team.<br \/>\nIn Group D both the Portadown College v Royal School Dungannon and Friends\u2019 School, Lisburn v Rainey Endowed School games were postponed.<br \/>\nLikewise in Group E the Enniskillen Royal Grammar School v Grosvenor Grammar School and Regent House School v Omagh Academy games lost out to the weather.<br \/>\nThe Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Cup Group Stage games, which were postponed on Saturday 10th December, are due to be rescheduled for Wednesday 14th December.<br \/>\nIn a Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Bowl Qualifying game scheduled for Saturday 10th December, Antrim Grammar School overcame the challenge provided by Our Lady and St Patrick\u2019s College, Knock.<br \/>\nA number of 1stxv friendly games were scheduled to have taken place on Saturday 10th December but, unfortunately, they all fell victim to the prevailing weather conditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Round Up Saturday 10th December 2022.
