Eight teams have entered the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 U16 Cup competition for the 2022\/23 season.

\n1 Ballymena Academy 1 Campbell College, Belfast
\n2 Belfast Royal Academy 2 Methodist College, Belfast
\n3 Royal Belfast Academical Institution 3 Royal School, Armagh
\n4 Wallace High School 4 Sullivan Upper School
\nFour Group Stage games took place on Wednesday 21st September.
\nIn Group A Ballymena Academy played Wallace High in a game the Wallace High School team won by 19-5.
\nRoyal Belfast Academical Institution hosted Belfast Royal Academy and won the closely contested game by 19-15.
\nIn Group B Campbell College, Belfast played Royal School, Armagh and recorded a 40-12 victory.
\nMethodist College, Belfast entertained Sullivan Upper School and won this Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 U16 Cup game by 17-8.
\nIn the Danske Bank U16 Plate Competition 2022\/23 competition four teams elected to be involved.
\nTwo Group Stage Week 1 fixtures were played on Wednesday 21st September.
\nBallyclare High School hosted Coleraine Grammar School and won the game by 24-5.
\nRegent House School played Rainey Endowed School and it was the Rainey Endowed School team that returned home with a 32-15 victory under their belts.
\nAs well as the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 U16 Cup and Plate games played on Wednesday 21st September, a number of 1stxv games took place on the same afternoon.
\nBallyclare High School, with a Senior Select squad, hosted Antrim Grammar School and Wellington College, Belfast in a blitz format tournament with all teams using extended squads in the course of the afternoon.
\nThe Antrim Grammar School team defeated the Ballyclare side by 7-5 with Jack McNeilly scoring the try which was converted by Matthew Adair.
\nThe Ballyclare team defeated Wellington College, Belfast by 40-0.
\nThe final game of the afternoon saw the Antrim Grammar School team defeat the Wellington College team by 27-5.
\nPatrick Dunlop, Alexander Lynn, Dylan Choudary and Angelo Simangan, with a brace, were the Antrim Grammar School try scorers. Alexander Lynn was successful with two of his conversion attempts.
\nBallymena Academy played Royal Belfast Academical Institution and maintained their undefeated start to the season with a hard-earned, but ultimately well-deserved, 24-17 victory.
\nDaniel Heyburn, Callum Mustoe, Daniel Vercoe-Rodgers and Tristan Ferguson scored the Ballymena Academy tries with Tristan Ferguson adding two conversions.
\nJosh Gibson, James Clark and James Hilman scored the Royal Belfast Academical Institution tries with Alex Place adding one conversion.
\nLimavady Grammar School played Coleraine Grammar School in game which saw the Coleraine Grammar School team travel without their U16 players as well as their Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 players. This gave the Coleraine GS coaching staff the opportunity to play members of their extended senior squad.
\nThe final outcome of this closely contested game was a well-deserved 13-10 victory for the Limavady Grammar School team.
\nThe Limavady Grammar School points came through a Joe Caldwell try alongside a conversion and two penalty goals from the trusty boot of Benjamin Howe.
\nThe Coleraine Grammar School team scored two unconverted tries from Noah Gordon and Matthew Curry.
\nOn Friday 23rd September Banbridge Academy hosted Omagh Academy in a late afternoon kick off.
\nThe Banbridge Academy team emerged from this fixture as 19-12 winners having taken an early 12-0 lead. The dynamic Conor Magee scored two early tries, one of which was converted by Ryan Matthews, to give the Banbridge team their early 12-0 lead.
\nThe Omagh Academy team, with players such as Callum Doherty, Conrad Hale, Allister Crawford and James Fleming to the fore, fought back strongly following their shaky start to the game. A moment of brilliance from Sam Beattie led to a penalty try, on the stroke of half time, which reduced the Omagh Academy arrears to 12-7 at the break.
\nThe second half of the game turned out to be a closely contested affair. With players such as Fergus Always and Callum Little impressing for the home team, the Banbridge Academy team scored an intercept unconverted try through Tom King, which was converted by Ryan Matthews, to increase their lead to 19-7.
\nHowever, the Omagh Academy team displayed great commitment and got some reward for their endeavours when Joshua Keys took advantage of a well-constructed driven maul, following an attacking line out, to touch down for an unconverted try which left the final score reading Banbridge Academy 19 Omagh Academy 12.
\nOn Saturday 24th September quite a few 1st fixtures were played.
\nAntrim Grammar School played Lurgan College in a closely contested game which the Lurgan College team won by 12-10.
\nThe Antrim Gramar School team, for whom Josh Harvey put in a Man of the Match performance, scored their points through a brace of unconverted tries from Eoin Byrne.
\nPeter Bird scored two tries and converted one try for the Lurgan College team.
\nBallymena Academy played Bangor Grammar School and maintained their positive start to the season with a comprehensive victory. The game was played in a great spirit by both teams and the Ballymena Academy players and coaches were delighted with the reception they received from Bangor Grammar School.
\nThe Bangor Grammar School team had Jack Mason and Alex Shaw to thank for their points.
\nThe Ballymena Academy team had good performances from players such as Sean McKay, Mark Glenn, Joshua Gallagher, Callum Mustoe, Daniel Heyburn, James McIlroy, Reece Williamson, Ethan McKillen, Callum Ervine, Alex McBurney and Robbie Coleman.
\nBelfast Royal Academy played Methodist College, Belfast and it was the Methodist College team that came away with a 28-10 victory at the no-side whistle.
\nPeter Richardson scored the Belfast Royal Academy try to which Josh McKee added the conversion as well as one penalty.
\nBen McFarlane put in a Man of the Match performance with two tries and four conversions for the Methodist College team. Josh Stevens and Matthew Scott weighed in also with one try each.
\nCambridge House Grammar School entertained Dalriada School in a game the Dalriada School team won by 21-10.
\nJamie Watt and Luke Elliott each scored an unconverted try for the Cambridge House team.
\nThe Dalriada School try scorers were Adam Nesbitt, Stevie McCamphill and Ben Stewart. Gabriel Stubbs-Carton was successful with all three of his conversion kicks.

\nSam Netherton and Angus Crawford scored the Friends\u2019 School tries with Paddy Moore adding one conversion.
\nAdam Little and Callum Bradley scored the Dromore High School tries with Nathan Hook adding two conversions.
\nLarne Grammar School played Ballyclare High School in a game which the Ballyclare High School team, having used an extended squad of players, won by 33-12.
\nEthan Anderson and Cian Ferguson scored the Larne Grammar School tries with Ethan Duncan adding the extras to one of the tries.
\nJames Cochrane, Neil McCrea, Isaac Shiels, Angus Catherwood and Austin Martin scored the Ballyclare High School tries to which Joel Flynn added four conversions.
\nPortadown College hosted Belfast High School in a high scoring game the Portadown College team won by 36-24.
\nJosh Herron scored a hat trick of tries for the Portadown College team with Sam Herbert, Mitch McClelland and Tyler Jackson each touching down for one try apiece. John Speers was successful with three of his conversion kicks.
\nDaniel Bennett, Lucas Thompson and Joey Ashby scored the Belfast High School tries with Daniel adding three conversions as well as one penalty.
\nRainey Endowed School played Foyle and Londonderry College in another high scoring encounter with the Rainey ES team emerging as 54-20 winners.

\nRoyal School, Dungannon played Grosvenor Grammar School for the Chico Cup on the WK Armstrong Pitch in Dungannon.
\nThe Royal School, Dungannon team held on to the trophy with a comprehensive victory.
\nPlayers such as Christy Brace, Cameron Shaw, Alfie Lewis, Reuben Gibson, Jacob Clarke and Man of the Match, Matthew Burrows, stood out for the Royal School, Dungannon team with their strong performances.
