{"id":66215,"date":"2014-04-12T13:49:23","date_gmt":"2014-04-12T12:49:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=66215"},"modified":"2014-04-12T13:49:23","modified_gmt":"2014-04-12T12:49:23","slug":"rwc-2015-preparation-boost-georgia-host-tbilisi-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/rwc-2015-preparation-boost-georgia-host-tbilisi-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"RWC 2015 Preparation Boost for Georgia as they Host Tbilisi Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<table width=\"581\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"5\" valign=\"top\" width=\"581\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table width=\"581\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"5\" valign=\"top\" width=\"581\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #003399; font-size: medium;\">RWC 2015 Preparation Boost for Georgia as they Host Tbilisi Cup<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Georgia will again welcome top international Rugby this year as it was announced today that the country would host the IRB Tbilisi Cup in June.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Spain, Emerging Italy and Argentina Jaguars will join the hosts from June 14 to 22 in the Georgian capital for yet another opportunity for Tier Two nations to play competitive games in the run up to next year&#8217;s Rugby World Cup. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The round-robin competition will be played across three match days \u2013 June 14, 18 and 22 \u2013 at the Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Tbilisi Cup, which is funded by the International Rugby Board, plays a very important high-performance role for participating nations and for the ongoing growth of Rugby in Georgia. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IRB Head of Competitions and Performance Mark Egan said: \u201cGeorgia recently qualified for Rugby World Cup 2015 after a tremendous unbeaten run in the FIRA-AER European Nations Cup Division 1A, which culminated in a fantastic victory against Romania in Tbilisi, which again showcased the Union\u2019s ability to host great Rugby matches.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cHosting the IRB Tbilisi Cup this year will give Georgia a good opportunity to test their progress against tough international opposition such as Emerging Italy, Argentina Jaguars and Spain, while also gaining invaluable squad preparation and experience for next year\u2019s Rugby World Cup.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>President of the Georgian Rugby Union George Nijaradze said: \u201cI would like to thank IRB for this opportunity to host the IRB Tbilisi Cup once again.
