Skateboarder Ged Wells INSANE Brand launches Christmas ranges… @ insaneemporium.com<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Ged Wells Insane brand an amazing independent, British art brand owned and run by artist and ex pro UK skateboarder Ged Wells.<\/p>\n

His work has a cult following here and around the world – particularly in Japan and has created solutions for Louis Vuitton, Sony Playstation and Mars.<\/p>\n

His brand Insane was originally launched through Slam City Skates in London and is now available from www.insaneemporium.com<\/a><\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Artist edition vegan leather accessories from Insane by Ged Wells<\/p>\n

Art & skateboard brand Insane presents a new limited collection of vegan leather accessories, custom-crafted in the UK featuring the brand\u2019s classic Twisted Teddy and Strawberry graphics.<\/p>\n

The vegan leather keyrings, half-zip wallet and button badges are all hand-stitched in small batches in Insane\u2019s studio.<\/p>\n

Insane was originally founded by UK artist and pro-skateboarder Ged Wells in the 1980s. It led an explosion of pop-art style skateboarding graphics at the end of the 1980s and into the 90s, stocked by iconic skate store Slam City, and worn by celebrities from the late movie-star Robin Williams to UK pop acts Jesus Jones and EMF.<\/p>\n

Wells was a key figure UK skateboarding culture and competing internationally, when Insane grew in popularity. It was taken to Japan by Japanese musician, designer and producer Hiroshi Fujiwara in Japan and distributed by Slam City Skates in London. Exhibiting paintings, drawings, collage and character sculptures since the early 1990s,<\/p>\n

Wells works are laced with surreal narrative and anthropomorphic illusion, woven into Insane\u2019s product collections.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Outside of Insane, he has provided solutions for brands such as PlayStation, Mars, and Louis Vuitton, as well as identity for independents such as Wiiija Records and The Idler magazine. One hundred of his illustrations can also be found in The Book of Idle Pleasures, published by Ebury Press.<\/p>\n
