{"id":651728,"date":"2021-03-29T08:56:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-29T07:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=651728"},"modified":"2021-03-29T15:12:50","modified_gmt":"2021-03-29T14:12:50","slug":"roadrunner-rugby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/roadrunner-rugby\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cROADRUNNER\u201d RUGBY PLAYER ROB BURROW LAUNCHES CHARITY BEER WITH SEVEN BRO7HERS"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>\u201cROADRUNNER\u201d RUGBY PLAYER ROB BURROW LAUNCHES CHARITY BEER WITH SEVEN BRO7HERS&#8230; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sevenbro7hers.com\/\">www.sevenbro7hers.com<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/162413641_3999681380052559_3285207451294363553_o.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWING CO has teamed up with rugby league legend Rob Burrow to launch a limited-edition charity lager to raise money for the MND Association.<\/p>\n<p>Launching in March, this classic, crisp, craft pilsner is 5% ABV and the perfect pint to enjoy this year\u2019s rugby league season.<\/p>\n<p>The can \u2013 signed by the former Leeds Rhinos player \u2013 plays homage to his famous number seven position on the field and MND charity colours.<\/p>\n<p>Always known for being one of the smaller players but quick on his feet, Burrow requested the vegan pilsner be called \u2018Roadrunner\u2019 after a playful nickname he was coined on the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Rob Burrow, an eight-time Grand Final winner with the Rhinos from 2004 to 2017, was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease in December 2019.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/163189722_4002124369808260_2052998851502573854_o.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>He has become a high-profile ambassador for the MNDA and was awarded an MBE in the latest new year honours.<\/p>\n<p>Father-of-three, Rob Burrow said: \u201cI\u2019m so proud to have a beer named after me by SEVEN BRO7HERS. The name came from Rugby League commentator Michael Stephenson MBE, he would often refer to me as the \u2018Road runner\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about his condition, Rob added: \u201cI\u2019m doing okay and feeling good. I\u2019m slowly deteriorating but my head is in a good place, I am always optimistic and feel really good about my future. I\u2019m thrilled that some of the people suffering from MND will be able to benefit from the proceeds of this beer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Challenge Cup final winner and former England Rugby League star, Nathan McAvoy of SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWING CO, said: \u201cTo us Rob is one in seven million, an amazing player and family man, doing a fantastic job to raise awareness in the fight against this awful disease. It has been an honor to collaborate with Rob to bring to life his sporting legacy on the can.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is hard to not be incredibly moved by his story, and we hope everyone supports the beer as all proceeds will help to tackle MND and fund research for cures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Roadrunner is available exclusively on the SEVEN BRO7HERS as a web shop in cases of six for \u00a318.<\/p>\n<p>The 440ml cans will be available to order from March 22.
