By Barney McGonigle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Round Up Saturday 15th February 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Quite a few 2nd and 3rdxv Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Cup\/Plate games were played in the course of the week beginning 19th February.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Cup results were as follows:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Banbridge Academy 22 Rainey Endowed School 17<br \/>\nRoyal Belfast Academical Institution 48 Belfast Royal Academy 0<br \/>\nPortora Royal School 0 Sullivan Upper School 45<br \/>\nRoyal School, Dungannon 7 Down High School 51<br \/>\nFoyle and Londonderry College 0 Ballymena Academy 39<\/p>\n<p>The game involving Wellington College, Belfast and Campbell College, Belfast was postponed due to the inclement weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The draw for the next stage of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Competitions took place at the Royal School, Armagh. The results of the draws are as follows:-<\/p>\n<p>Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup<\/p>\n<p>Royal School, Armagh 3\/Belfast Royal Academy 3 v Coleraine Academical Institution 3<br \/>\nSullivan Upper School v Wallace High School<br \/>\nDown High School v Methodist College, Belfast<br \/>\nCampbell College, Belfast v Royal Belfast Academical Institution<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Plate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>St Columb\u2019s College v Banbridge Academy<br \/>\nMethodist College, Belfast 4thxv v Fivemiletown High School<br \/>\nRoyal School, Armagh 4thxv v Portora Royal School<br \/>\nBallyclare Secondary School v Grosvenor Grammar School<br \/>\nCampbell College, Belfast 4th xv v Royal School, Armagh\/Belfast Royal Academy<br \/>\nBallymena Academy v Royal Belfast Academical Institution 5thxv<br \/>\nRoyal Belfast Academical Institution 4th xv v Limavady Grammar School<br \/>\nAshfield Boys\u2019 School v Ballyclare High School<\/p>\n<p>In the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Bowl Semi-Final, Lurgan College and Belfast High School drew 12-12.The Royal School, Armagh v Bangor Grammar School game was postponed. The results of the replay game and the postponed game in this competition must be finalised by Tuesday 25th February.<\/p>\n<p>In the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Trophy competition Rainey Endowed School defeated Strabane Academy by 48-8.<\/p>\n<p>There were no 1stxv games played on Saturday 15th February but all the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Shield Quarter-Final games took place.<\/p>\n<p>Methodist College, Belfast 5 Down High School 5 Replay Feb 20th 1430HRS<br \/>\nSullivan Upper School 21 Wallace High School 14<br \/>\nGrosvenor Grammar School 0 Ballymena Academy 10 HERE for action shotssssssssssssss<br \/>\nRoyal Belfast Academical Institution 37 Campbell College 0 CLICK <a href=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/gallery\/\">HERE<\/a> for action shotssssssssssssss<\/p>\n<p>It was the power of the RBAI pack that laid the foundations for their 37-0 win in this game. Team captain, Michael Lowry, was able to control the game by using the quality possession he was receiving very effectively. The Belfast Inst team scored tries through Ian Cuthbertson, who touched down twice, Robbie Mairs, Michael Lowry and Ethan Field. James Hume and Sam Fryers added the remaining points with their trusty boots!<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Plate competition the results were as follows:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Belfast Royal Academy 17 Regent House 5<br \/>\nBanbridge Academy 15 Ballyclare High School 13<br \/>\nDromore High School v Coleraine Academical Institution (Postponed)<br \/>\nOmagh Academy v Dalriada School (Postponed)<\/p>\n<p>Following these games the draws for the semi-finals of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Shield and Medallion Plate competitions took place. The draws were conducted by Mr Stephen Black, Principals\u2019 Representative on the Ulster Branch, IRFU and Mr Stephen Barr, Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Shield Competition Co-Ordinator.<\/p>\n<p>The results of the draws are as follows:-<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Shield Semi-Finals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Royal Belfast Academical Institution v Sullivan Upper School<br \/>\nBallymena Academy v Methodist College, Belfast\/ Down High School<\/p>\n<p>These games are scheduled to take place on Saturday 1st March and will be played at neutral venues (TBC)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Plate Semi-Finals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Banbridge Academy v Omagh Academy\/Dalriada<br \/>\nBelfast Royal Academy v Dromore High School\/Coleraine Academical Institution<br \/>\nThese games are scheduled to take place on Saturday 1st March and will be played at the home pitch of the first team drawn out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Round Up Saturday 15th February 2014.
