One lucky \u2018landlord\u2019 or \u2018landlady\u2019 of the most inventive at-home bar will win a year\u2019s supply of Aldi vouchers, worth over a thousand pounds[1], to help keep their shelves stocked.<\/p>\n The competition will be judged by two new garden pub landlords from Cheshire, estate agent Sadie Jones and interior designer Nick Threadgold. The couple not only built an impressive indoor bar, but since lockdown caused a media storm after creating \u2018The Stagger Inn\u2019, an old garden shed which has been transformed into a stylish at-home boozer. The couple will be looking for an at-home bar or pub with personality, something quirky and homely that has a real stamp of individuality.<\/p>\n Sadie Jones, Landlady of \u2018The Stagger Inn\u2019 Garden Pub said: \u201cWe\u2019re very excited to be partnering with Aldi on this search for the UK\u2019s best at home bar. We were missing our favourite pubs, but since we decided to build our own, we\u2019ve not looked back. It was such a fun and creative project and it\u2019s an affordable way to enjoy our favourite drinks at home \u2013 we\u2019re thrilled with the result.\u201d<\/p>\n Staying in really has become the new going out with Aldi seeing a 35% increase in sales[2] when it comes to purchasing beers, wines and spirits, showing a demand for enjoying at home pub-drinking experiences. What\u2019s more, Brits are becoming more adventurous with their at home drinks choices, with half of cocktail drinkers now choosing to enjoy them at home[3].<\/p>\n Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: \u201cEven though pubs and bars are beginning to open, the prospect of this is daunting for many.
