Be part of something BIG!
\nWhat do you think when you see litter and rubbish just dumped on the street, your local park or playground, or on the beach? Do you want to do something about it? Here at TIDY Northern Ireland we\u2019re working really hard to try to reduce the amount of litter that is dropped and we need your help!
\nIf you\u2019d like to do something positive next Spring to help improve your local environment and local community then why not get involved in the BIG Spring Clean 2014?
\nThe BIG Spring Clean is Northern Ireland\u2019s largest volunteering campaign aimed at cleaning up local areas and improving our environment. This year over 50,000 people got involved and we\u2019re hoping to double that next year.
\nIt\u2019s easy to be part of the BIG Spring Clean by organising your own clean up event between February \u2013 April 2014. When you register we will send you a FREE Clean Up Kit and when you return to the website to tell us how you got on, you will be entered into a prize draw. It doesn\u2019t matter how small or big your event is and you can choose where and when it takes place.

General information about the BIG Spring Clean
\nThe BIG Spring Clean is TIDY Northern Ireland\u2019s flagship volunteering and awareness raising campaign aimed at promoting volunteering opportunities for groups, businesses and individuals.
\nThe campaign supports local community clean-ups across all 26 council areas in Northern Ireland. It is Northern Ireland\u2019s fastest growing community clean-up volunteering campaign and is open to people and groups from all communities wishing to rid their streets of litter and discarded rubbish.
\nThe campaign is supported by all 26 Councils and the DOE. Our media partner is The Belfast Telegraph so if you have a newsworthy angle for your clean up event please let us know.
\nBIG Spring Clean 2013 mobilised over 50,000 volunteers in clean up events across Northern Ireland, double the number of last year and removed the same weight in rubbish as 26 adult African elephants.
\nThe BIG Spring Clean website (www.bigspringcleanni.org) provides an online network where volunteers can register their clean-up events, get useful information and find out about other events in their area.<\/p>\n
