\nOn the same afternoon Limavady Grammar School played Strabane Academy in a Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Trophy game. The Limavady Grammar School emerged from this game as 37-0 winners.
\nOn Wednesday 15th there was one Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Trophy game when Lurgan College hosted Larne Grammar School and won the game by 8-0.
\nGrosvenor Grammar School 2ndxv has also gone through to the next stage of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2nd xv Trophy competition.
\nAlso on Wednesday 15th January Royal School, Armagh 3rdxv played Belfast Royal Academy 3rdxv in the 2nd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup. The Royal School, Armagh team won the game by 40-0.
\nOn the same afternoon Royal Belfast Academical Institution 3rdxv hosted Bangor Grammar School 3rdxv in their Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup game. With ten minutes of the game remaining the scores were level at 17-17. However, a major spurt in the final period of time secured a 31-17 win for the Royal Belfast Academical Institution team.
\nAt 1stxv level Friends\u2019 School, Lisburn hosted Belfast Royal Academy in a high scoring game the Friends\u2019 School team won by 31-19.
\nOn the back of impressive performances of players such as Max Gillespie, Fergus McEwen and Kyle Gormley the Friends\u2019 School, Lisburn team ran in five tries. Jack Harte, Joe Anderson, Reece Malone and Stuart Patterson, with two, were the Friends\u2019 School try scorers and Reece Malone was successful with three of his conversion kicks.
\nLiam Davis, Andrew Greer and Cameron Dougan scored the tries for the Belfast Royal Academy team to which Ollie Parkes added two conversions.
\nOn Saturday 18th January there were games in played in the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Shield and 2ndxv Cup competitions as well as a somewhat shortened scheduled list of 1stxv friendly games
\nIn the 3rd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Medallion Shield the games involving Royal School, Dungannon playing Royal School, Armagh, Ballyclare High School playing Sullivan Upper School, Enniskillen Royal Grammar School playing Down High School and Belfast High School playing Grosvenor Grammar School were postponed due to frost. These postponed games are scheduled to be replayed in the coming week.
\nBangor Academy played the Rainey Endowed School in a game which finished as a 2-20 draw. The replay of this game will take place in the course of the coming week.
\nBangor Grammar School played Dalriada School in a game the Bangor Grammar School team won by 33-0.
\nFoyle and Londonderry College Medallion played Carrickfergus Grammar School Medallion in a closely contested game that went right to the wire. It was with almost the final play of the game that Conor Kelly touched down for an unconverted try to secure a 5-0 win for the Foyle and Londonderry College team.
\nIn the 3rd Round of the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Cup the Ballyclare High School v Sullivan Upper School game has now been moved to Wednesday 22nd January.
\nBallymena Academy 2ndxv will re-schedule to play Bangor Grammar School 2ndxv on Wednesday 22nd as will Omagh Academy 2ndxv against Enniskillen Royal Grammar School 2ndxv
\nColeraine Grammar School 2ndxv played Royal School, Armagh 2ndxv in a game the Royal School, Armagh team won by 40-7.
\nAt 1st level quite a few games of the scheduled games were cancelled due to frost but a number did survive.
\nCampbell College, Belfast hosted Wesley College, Dublin in a very close game the Campbell College team won by 22-21. Finlay Parkes, Hugh Minford and Henry Auchmuty each scored a try for the Campbell College team to which Jack Bonnar added two conversions as well as one penalty.
\nColeraine Grammar School played the Royal School, Armagh team in a series of controlled practice scenarios which both squads found useful. The main emphasis of the controlled games was on set piece plays, unit skills and attack and defence options from scrums and lineouts.
\nGrosvenor Grammar School played Rainey Endowed School in a game the Grosvenor Grammar School team recorded a morale boosting 31-5 win. The Grosvenor Grammar School points came through tries from Harry Carroll, who touched down twice, Adam Moore, Lewis Young and Zelig Young each of whom ran in for one try apiece. Lewis Young was also successful with three of his conversion kicks.
\nMethodist College, Belfast travelled to Clane in Co Kildare where they played Christian Brother\u2019s College, Cork at Clongowes Wood College. Despite being 6-0 down to two Christian Brother\u2019s Cork penalties at half time the Methodist College team dominated proceedings in the second half and came away as 12-6 winners.
\nZach Porter and Lewis Montgomery scored the tries, one of which was converted by Callum Davidson, to secure the 12-6 victory for the Methodist College, Belfast team.
\nLarne Grammar School played a Methodist College, Belfast \u201cSelect\u201d xv in a game the Methodist College team won by 29-19.
\nThe Larne Grammar School points came through tries from Jack Wallace, Euan Glenn and Jack Withers to which Euan Glenn added two conversions. The Larne Grammar School team had strong performances from Year 12 players such as Scott Alexander, Jack Wallace and Tom Meban.
\nRoyal Belfast Academical Institution travelled to play Clongowes Wood College in a game the Clongowes Wood College team won by 50-12. The Belfast Inst team was committed throughout the game which was played on the 4G surface at Clongowes. Jude Postlethwaite, Oscar Lowe and Hugo Ellerby all impressed with their performances on the Royal Belfast Academical Institution team and their points came through tries from Hugo Ellerby and Ben Cooke with one conversion from Jack Dickson.
\nWallace High School, having travelled to Dublin the previous week where they lost to a St Mary\u2019s College team coached by former Royal School, Armagh, Ulster and Ireland Schools\u2019 2nd Row, Jamie Cornett, by 37-13, found themselves on the road once again.
\nThis time it was to Ashbourne Rugby Club where they travelled to play Cistercian College, Roscrea in a game the Wallace High School team won by 17-14. Jack Dillon scored two tries for the Wallace High School team with Finn Rankin touching down for one. Nathan Doak was successful with one of his conversion kicks.
\nBoth teams would like to thank Ashbourne Rugby Club for the provision of such splendid facilities and hosting the game.
