With the heatwave upon us, beards across the UK are battling flakes, frizz and dryness. BRISK Grooming has worked with Charley McEwan \u2013 celeb stylist to the likes of Tom Hardy and Nicholas Hoult – for his top tips for keeping beards well groomed as temperatures soar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KEEP IT CLEAN <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFirst off, I encourage my clients to shampoo their beards whilst they are in the shower (you should give it as much care and attention as the hair on your head!) using a specialist beard wash.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STAY FLAKE FREE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKeeping the skin and hair well hydrated and moisturised in the summer is key to looking groomed in the heat. Always use a good quality beard oil, such as the BRISK Intense Beard Oil (\u00a37.99, 50ml \u2013 Boots), to help keep the skin under your beard flake free! \u201cMy beard grooming must-have is a soft sandalwood beard comb, such as the Murdock London Keats Wood Beard Brush, which helps to keep each of the beard hairs moving the same way for a smooth effect. This is a really easy way to keep a beard looking groomed, fast!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TOP CONDITION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA top tip for keeping longer beards in good condition in the sun is to smooth some conditioner into your beard; this seals in the moisture and stops any salt or chlorine changing the hair colour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MOISTURE BOOST<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKeeping the skin well hydrated is key for maintaining a good complexion in the heat! I use the BRISK Moisturiser with Malt Extract (\u00a33.50, 50ml \u2013 Morrisons) followed by Elemis Superfood Oil for an added boost of moisture!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
