All four speakers are showing their support and urging fans to show theirs too.

Returning champion, Martin Bayfield, said: “The pressure is on this year as I defend my title, and competition will be tough but I’m up for the challenge. I was shocked to hear 250,000 men are currently living with prostate cancer so I hope we can do our bit to show support and raise vital funds needed. I hope as many people turn up and support too.”

Rugby World Cup 2003 Winner, Kyran Bracken, said: “If my public speaking is as good as my Ice-skating I might be in with a chance! Speaking of chances, one in eight men will get prostate cancer – this is a scary statistic and is why I’m supporting Prostate Cancer UK in its bid to fight the disease. Please come along and help.”

Considered by many, one of the greatest rugby players ever, Gareth Edwards MBE, said: “I’m very much looking forward to the rugby speakers’ lunch and hoping for a win! I understand that at the moment prostate cancer is the most common in men in the UK and by 2030 will be the most common cancer overall. This is a shocking fact and why I’m showing my support to raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK. Do come along and show your support too.”

Former British Lion and Wales rugby hero, Scott Quinnell, said: “It’s Wales Vs England and I’m hoping we have the edge! It is daunting to know that one man every hour dies from prostate cancer in the UK, that’s 10,000 men every year. Men don’t always pay much attention to their health but if caught early prostate cancer can be treated successfully so I’d encourage every man to be aware. I’m supporting Prostate Cancer UK, why don’t you join us on the day and show yours too?”

To make a booking or request further information contact lucy.wray@mbnpromotions or mark.hudson@mbnpromotions.co.uk, or visit http://www.mbnpromotions.co.uk/events/view/44/rugby-speaker-of-the-year-2013.

Over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in the UK and one man dies every hour.
