So, from Rugby to Ruby (that’s an open source programming language for those of you that don’t know!), here’s a quick update…

Kieron and his partner, Hannah, who has managed and owned a series of successful hospitality establishments, saw a gap in the market for affordable back-office management software. Kieron said: “If you’re running a pub, restaurant, café or bar the story is the same; you’re pushed for time and, even though you try to focus your attention on the customer experience, there are too many situations where back-office admin take over”. Opsimize.com launched in 2013 to provide affordable, hassle-free back office management software for the trade. Unsurprisingly, doing more with less effort has hit the mark so it is now being rolled out to establishments all over the UK and Ireland.

When Kieron is not managing a team of developers, he is managing Worthing RFC a club six miles from his home in Brighton. After their promotion last year to National League One, the third tier in English Rugby, they are now the highest placed Sussex rugby club in history. Pretty impressive considering that this is only Kieron’s third season as Head Coach. Thanks to the promotion, this year will see the club mix with some full time outfits like Doncaster and Esher and also famous old clubs such as Rosslyn Park and Richmond. The media, especially the BBC, and region are right behind them to do well as they establish themselves in the third tier – go Raiders!

Brilliant to catch up with Kieron!

For and interview with Kieron and review of Wothing Raiders on the BBC Sport website CLICK HERE

He is now the owner of a software company for the hospitality trade and the Head Coach at Worthing RFC.
