Check it out!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carrick Ladies are getting into the spirit of the World Police and Fire Games by hosting a training session and short match with a combined USA and Canada side on Tuesday 6th August. Fresh from victory in the NM Sports Performance League and off-season fitness training, Carrick Ladies are increasingly enthusiastic about the new season and relish the opportunity to test themselves against other nations.<br \/>\nThe rugby 7\u2019s portion of the games are being held between 7-9 August at The Dub and there are 4 ladies teams entered &#8211; USA, Canada East, Canada West and the Garda. West Canada is captained by Angie Tetley, who currently plays for the Calgary Rams and has previously played in the national ladies league. Sara Rathburn captains the USA and said \u201cI\u2019m excited to meet everyone and have a fun and social time\u201d.<br \/>\nPlans are firmly underway in the Carrick Ladies camp for the upcoming season, new captain Sabrina Higgins said \u201cWe have been working hard both on and off the pitch to make this season even more successful than last and are excited about the extremely competitive season ahead of us. We\u2019ve been working on fitness over the summer and have made some positional changes within the team, so we can\u2019t wait to see how these work out within this session, we hope we can learn from each other as this is a unique opportunity to test ourselves against teams from other countries\u201d. New vice-captain Aimee Ellis is excited about potentially learning new skills \u201cthese teams play a different style of rugby from us, we hope we can learn something new from each other that we can take into the new season\u201d.<br \/>\nCarrick Ladies are currently recruiting new players, regardless of experience, ability or fitness.
