He returned to Ireland to teach in Saint Patrick\u2019s Grammar School in Armagh.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_1220.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_1220-300x288.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_1220\" width=\"300\" height=\"288\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5039\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bill\u2019s rugby career in Ireland stretched from the late \u201860\u2019s through to the \u201880\u2019s. He played for Saint Mary\u2019s College, Dublin. He then moved his allegiance to the Armagh City Club where he played for the successful sides which won the Town\u2019s Cup in 1970-71 and 1980-81. He went on to captain the Armagh side in 1974-75.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6255.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6255-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSC_6255\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5038\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In recent years Bill served on the club general committee and was famed for his sterling work as club secretary. He also was known for his refereeing and spent most Saturdays travelling to ref. various games all over the province.<br \/>\nBill is survived by his wife, Augusta, his two sons and daughter.
