My story<\/p>\n

My Uncle Victor died on 23 March 2013. I was very close to him and he was a big influence on me \u2013 he has a lot to answer for!<\/p>\n

He liked challenges and once he said he would do something he always saw it through, so I\u2019ve decided to run the Walled City Marathon in Derry-Londonderry \u2013 the UK City of Culture 2013 \u2013 my hometown and his birthplace \u2013 in his memory.<\/p>\n

He had lung cancer and spent his last days at Thames Hospicecare in Windsor, where he lived (www.thameshospicecare.org.uk). Their care for him was outstanding and I want to do my bit to raise some money to thank them and to help others.<\/p>\n
