(research in association with www.photobox.co.uk)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">New research reveals the most terrible Father\u2019s Day presents ever, and that mums receive gifts worth \u00a3114 MILLION more than dads every year.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\nNovelty socks, Y-Fronts, cans of deodorant, hair dye and EVEN verruca cream have topped a list of some of the WORST presents British dads have ever received.<br \/>\nNew research of the nation&#8217;s dads has revealed some of the most terrible gifts to have been given to them by their own children, with book tokens, grass seeds, cans of WD-40 and bottles of shampoo making the list.<br \/>\nOut of date vouchers, garden spades and football shirts for the wrong club were also among some of the howlers presented to dads on special occasions.<br \/>\nSo it comes as no surprise that the majority of fathers (54 percent) feel taken for granted by their children, with as many as one in three saying no fuss whatsoever is made for them for birthdays, Christmas or Father\u2019s Day.<br \/>\nOne in three of the 2,000 dads polled, admitted that when they do receive presents, they are more often than not, deeply disappointed.<br \/>\nThe study, commissioned by Photobox, revealed more than half of dads (51 percent) complain Mother\u2019s Day is a much bigger deal than Father\u2019s Day in their household, with a massive 78 percent claiming mums get much more of a fuss made of them on special occasions.<br \/>\nIn fact, long suffering dads are set to lose out to the tune of \u00a3114 Million this Father\u2019s Day, as the research also reveals Brits spend 20 percent LESS on presents for dad than they do for mum.<br \/>\nThe average British mum has \u00a331 splashed out on her on Mother\u2019s Day, while, if we do remember to buy dad a present, it is never worth more than \u00a325, according to the poll.<br \/>\nAnd this is in spite of the fact modern dads spend countless hours ferrying their kids around, helping them with their homework, handing out pocket money and doing grocery shopping, according to the research.<br \/>\nHowever, despite the family favouritism, 41 percent of dads admitted mum probably deserves to receive more of a fuss and better gifts on their special day.<br \/>\nA further 70 percent of dads wouldn\u2019t dream of telling their kids they didn\u2019t like their gifts.<br \/>\nRory Scott, spokesman for Photobox commented &#8220;We wanted to shine a light on the gifts that British families give and receive, and were shocked to see how many dads feel undervalued on Father\u2019s Day, and the number of truly awful Father\u2019s Day gifts that have been given to British dads.<br \/>\n&#8220;While it\u2019s clear that many believe mums should get the better presents on their big day, we at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.photobox.co.uk\">Photobox<\/a> think that it is important to celebrate dads, and so taking the time to think about something they might really like, such as a personalised gift, is so worth it.
