{"id":46156,"date":"2013-04-22T15:51:33","date_gmt":"2013-04-22T14:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=46156"},"modified":"2013-04-22T15:51:33","modified_gmt":"2013-04-22T14:51:33","slug":"ards-rfc-notes-festival-of-mini-rugby-is-this-sunday-28th-april-player-awards-night-is-18th-may-check-it-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/ards-rfc-notes-festival-of-mini-rugby-is-this-sunday-28th-april-player-awards-night-is-18th-may-check-it-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Ards RFC Notes: Festival OF Mini Rugby Is This Sunday 28th April + Player Awards night Is 18th May &#8211; Check It Out!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ards RFC Festival of Mini Rugby will be held this Sunday the 28th April at Hamilton Park from 12noon.<\/p>\n<p>There will be in excess of 400 kids playing mini rugby in the following age groups, P1-P3, P4, P5, P6 &#038; P7.<\/p>\n<p>Participating clubs include Ards, Bangor, Donaghadee, CIYMS, Holywood, Lisburn and Cooke.<\/p>\n<p>The matches will be 7 minutes each way with 2 minutes for half time.<\/p>\n<p>As for all Festivals of Mini Rugby the IRFU directive is participation and not winners and losers.<\/p>\n<p>For the second year in succession Richard Poulter from &#8216;The Stove Yard&#8217; is the the main sponsor of the event and has put forward a Fair Play Award to each age group; commenting on his company&#8217;s support of the event Richard said &#8216;At The Stove Yard we strive to be at the heart of every home with our product, by supporting Ards Rugby Club, The Stove Yard are now at the heart of the local community.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Festival organiser and Mini Rugby convenor Ian Caughey invites all Ards residents to come along and see the great work being done at Ards Rugby Club with local kids and that traffic disruption will be ket to a minimum with car parking being provided in the club grounds.<\/p>\n<p>Parents are reminded to be at club before 1130am and entrance will be via the gate immediately behind the clubhouse, there will be no parking on the main road.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers are required to assist with Car Parking, Catering, Tuck Shop and Pitch Controllers please contact Ian Caughey , Stevie Nutt or a mini rugby coach; alternatively turn up on Sunday morning at 1030am.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sat 18th May &#8211; PLAYER&#8217;S AWARDS NIGHT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Player&#8217;s Award Night is to be held on Sat 18th May from 730pm. This is the same day as the Heineken Cup Final.<br \/>\nThe following awards will be presented for each team:<br \/>\nPlayer&#8217;s Player of the Year<br \/>\nCoaches Player of the Year<\/p>\n<p>The following Club awards will be presented:<br \/>\nClub Player of the Year<br \/>\nClub Young Player of Year (this is for a player 18 &#8211; 21 playing within the senior club)<br \/>\nClub Top Try Scorer<br \/>\nClub Top Points Scorer<\/p>\n<p>Could the winners of last year&#8217;s club awards please return them to the clubhouse no later than the 1st May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ards RFC Festival of Mini Rugby will be held this Sunday the 28th April at Hamilton Park from 12noon.
