Great Win for the Ladies today.
\nAfter a shaky start which seen them trail 8-0 Newry kicked it up a gear to reduce the deficit to 8-7 going into the break. <\/p>\n
The second half saw a revitalised side with Newry bombarding the Castlebar line for the entire second half.
\nSix times the Mourne Ladies went over the line only to be called back for:
\n1: foot in touch prior to touching down.
\n2: Held up (Poor positioning from the ref meant he missed the ball clearly being grounded)
\n3: Knock on ( again the ref was wrong side of the action and missed it actually being hit by the castlebar winger not the Newry Wing.
\nand Held up Legitimatly 3 times by a determined Castlebar team. <\/p>\n
It seemed it wasnt to be Newrys day as wave after wave was held back by a Castlebar team who would not stand down and tackled ferociously on their line for nearly 15 minutes. <\/p>\n
With five to go Newry finally made their hard work count switching the play to the right where they easily crashed over for a much deserved try. <\/p>\n
A Conversion off the post meant Newry entered the final minutes leading 14-8. Castlebar tried to rally in the closing minutes but the Newry Side were too strong with everyone facing up and making their tackles. <\/p>\n
A great game of Rugby to watch with a great result for the fans who braved the artic conditions.<\/p>\n
