Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 Round Up Saturday 18th November 2017<\/h3>\n

\nAs well as some Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2nd and 3rdxv Round 1 Cup matches played midweek there was one 1stxv midweek friendly played in the lead up to a good list of 1stxv games played on Saturday 18th November.
\nLarne Grammar School recorded a 17-3 victory against Methodist College, Belfast 3rdxv in a game played the previous weekend. Lee McKay, Jason Ward and Liam Slaughter scored tries for the Larne Grammar School team with Jonny Farquhar adding one conversion.
\nOn Wednesday 15th November Limavady Grammar School played Sullivan Upper School in a game played at the Meadowbank Arena Stadium in Magherafelt. The Sullivan Upper team recorded a comfortable 57-28 victory in the course of the game. Tim Nart, scored two tries for the Sullivan Upper team as did Connor McKee and Shay Storey. Alex Dowling, Adam McKenna and George Saunderson each scored one try and Connor McKee was successful with six conversion kicks.
\nThe Limavady Grammar School points came through tries from Adam Warnock, Jon McMichael and Robbie Hunter with James Howe adding two conversions as well as three penalty kicks.
\nThere were thirteen Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 2ndxv Cup matches, as well as one Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup match, played on Wednesday 15th November.

\nIn the Danske Bank Ulster Schools\u2019 3rdxv Cup Royal Belfast Academical Institution 3rdxv defeated Bangor Grammar School 3rdxv by 57-0
\nOn Saturday 18th November quite a few 1stxv games were played across the province.
\nBelfast Royal Academy hosted Dalriada School in a game the visitors won by 26-10. Luke Pollock scored two tries for the Ballymoney visitors with James McCormick and Ross Fallows touching down for one each. Paddy Carson added two conversions and Jacob Fleck was successful with one.
\nTom Stewart scored a try for the Belfast Royal Academy team with Callum Davidson adding a penalty as well as a conversion.
\nCarrickfergus Grammar School recorded a 26-5 win against a very committed Strabane Academy team. Jack Leathem was the hero for the Carrickfergus team with his three try haul. Adam Gardner scored a fourth try and Daniel Curley added three conversions.
\nThe Strabane Academy points came through an unconverted try from Ralph Mealiff.
\nColeraine Grammar School lost by 34-0 against Methodist College, Belfast at the end of a game which the Methodist College team dominated. The Methody team had built up a 17-0 lead by the break with tries from Louis Millar, Ethan McIlroy and Robbie Armstrong. Ethan was successful with one conversion.
\nThe second half saw the Methodist College, Belfast team remain in control of the game. Three more tries were scored by Max Little, Ben Crangle and Ted Linton. Another Ethan McIlroy conversion sealed the 34-0 win for the Methodist College, Belfast team.
\nDown High School recorded an impressive 48-0 win against Regent House. Robin Wilson scored two Down High School tries with Andrew McCoubrey, Lewis Finlay, Reece Hagan and Alex Martin each scoring one. Greg Hutley contributed six conversions as well as two penalties
\nDromore High School made the Royal School, Dungannon team work hard for a 26-7 victory when the teams met at the Barban Hill venue. The RS Dungannon team had built up a 14-0 lead by half time through tries from Peter Nicholl and Calvin Nelson, both of which were converted by Luke McMullan.
\nThe Dromore team reduced the arrears to 14-7 early in the second half when Ben Heath crossed the whitewash for a try which Reuben Cobb converted. The Royal School, Dungannon team responded with great work from their pack presenting Cameron Steenson with the opportunity to score an unconverted try which put the visitors into a 19-7 lead. Close to the final whistle Jono Shrestha touched down for a try, which Jack Girvan converted, to leave the Royal School, Dungannon team as 26-7 winners.
\nEnniskillen Royal Grammar School hosted Portadown College in a game the Enniskillen team won by 17-10. Portadown College took a 10-0 lead into the interval with two unconverted tries from Ross Gilmore and team captain, Matthew Neill.
\nPortadown continued to work hard in the second half but somehow managed to concede three tries. Reece Smyton, Curtis Coulter and Christopher Balfour scored the Enniskillen Royal Grammar School tries and one Reece Smyton conversion secured the 17-10 victory for his team.
\nFriends\u2019 School, Lisburn played out an exciting game against Sullivan Upper School from which the Sullivan team emerged as 32-29 winners. The Friends\u2019 School points came through tries from Jack Harte, the prop, Jack Harte, the centre, Sam Greer and Stuart Patterson. Ben McCaughey added two conversions and one penalty with Reece Malone adding one conversion.
\nThe Sullivan Upper points came through tries from Shaun Tyler, Thomas Leech, Conor McKee, Adam McKenna and two from Tim Nart. Andy McConnell added one conversion.
\nLarne Grammar School hosted Grosvenor Grammar School in a game the Grosvenor Grammar School team won by 17-5. Both teams used the game as an opportunity to play extended squads.
\nThe Larne Grammar School points came from a Liam Slaughter try
\nNathan Chan scored two tries for the Grosvenor team with Jack Patterson touching down for a third. Jos McConkey was successful with one conversion.
\nLimavady Grammar School defeated Foyle and Londonderry College by 19-12 when the teams met at the Ballyquin Road venue. Ethan Devlin, Sean Butcher and Benn Riley scored first half tries for the hosts with Jamie Young adding two conversions to give the Limavady Grammar School team a 19-0 lead at half time.
\nThe Foyle and Londonderry College team mounted something of a revival in the second half. They scored tries through Killeen Coyle and Andy Millar with Killeen adding one conversion.
\nLurgan College and Bangor Grammar School played out a 17-17 draw in the course of the game at the Lough Road venue. Reuben McCreery, Matthew McConaghy and Ewen Mulligan scored the Lurgan College tries with Josh Best adding one conversion.
\nThe Bangor Grammar School points came through two tries from Aaron Sexton, one try from Zach Kerr and one conversion from Daniel Young.
\nOmagh Academy hosted Wallace High School in a game the Wallace High School team won by 26-5. Glenn McKinley scored an unconverted try for the Omagh Academy team.
\nJamie McKnight and Josh Cardosi scored tries in the first half for Wallace with Jamie Peters scoring two in the second half. Nathan Doak added three conversions.
\nRoyal School, Armagh travelled to play St Mary\u2019s College in Dublin and felt aggrieved to have lost a closely contested game by 22-21. 22-0 down at the break they scored second half tries through Jack Treanor, Zac Thompson and Benji Boyd. Zac was also successful with all three conversions.
\nWellington College, Belfast 1stxv played Friends\u2019 School, Lisburn 2ndxv in a close encounter the Wellington College team won by 21-20. The Wellington College points came through tries from Adam Savage, who touched down twice, and Marcus Smyth. Jake Hamilton added three conversions.
\nIrish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust Week 2nd – 9th December 2017
\nThe Irish Rugby Football Union Charitable Trust was formed in 1978 to assist severely injured rugby players in their everyday lives, and help to restore their con\u00acfidence and independence.
\nAll clubs and schools are encouraged to raise funds for the Trust by working on fund raising ventures during the week December 2nd-December 9th 2017. Schools in Ulster have supported this most worthwhile of causes most generously over a period of many years. It is hoped this support will continue this year and that even more money can be raised.
\nOne of the targets for the Charitable Trust Committee is that all schools and clubs sign up to a direct debit as a \u201cFriend\u201d of the IRFU Charitable Trust.
