Service started strongly after Captain Michael Murray called on his men to deliver the performance for the injured Stuart Lappin. A sharp line-out and a sneaky run from Al Montgomery saw him scoring the first try of the day.

Moore Holmes Jnr, Trevor McDowell, Gareth Bond, Jonathan Cartwright and Kenny Dane also got over the line for service and Peter Hoskins continued to kick well from outrageous distance and angles.

Final Score: Civil Service 56 – 12 Armoy

*If you wish to sponsor any of our Service Mo Bros, visit the team’s Mo Space http://uk.movember.com/team/546897

Civil Service Colts lose at Ards
By Philip Anderson | Saturday 17th November 2012
Final score 45-10.

Ards showed greater hunger and deservedly ran out winners.
FOR pictures of the colts CLICK HERE
It was a case of déjà-vu, just like last week Service were slow out of the traps and conceded 2 early scores, 14-0 down with 10 minutes on the clock.

Jack McDowell scored the first Service try after 16 minutes, conversion missed to reduce the margin to 14-5. A period of sustained pressure followed but no points were gained. Ards then scored a 3rd try. Half time score 19-5 for Ards.

Service again conceded 2 early scores under the posts after the restart. Trailing 33-5 5 minutes into the second period. Andrew Lilburn pulled back a consolation try after a neat pop pass from Kamil Wenger to run half the length of the pitch. 33-10. Ards upped the ante and finished off the match with 2 further tries to win 45-10.

We know we can score tries. Unfortunately we’ve developed a leaky defence. Concentration levels need to improve to stop the mistakes. The growing army of supporters at pitch side all shared the same view – this team has huge potential but needs to start having self-belief.

The only difference between the 2 sides on the pitch today was Ards had confidence in themselves.

Training is on Monday at 6.30pm as usual, please arrive promptly.

“Ulster had many front line players missing, conceded 4 tries, and came from behind many times.
