The 2012 IRFU ‘Your Club Your Country’ Grand Prize Draw took place in Aviva Stadium today. The winning tickets were drawn by IRFU President Mr. Billy Glynn and Ireland’s newest captain Jamie Heaslip. A total of 65,427 tickets were sold meaning that club rugby will benefit to the tune of Euro 650,427.<\/p>\n
Speaking today at the draw Padraig Power, IRFU Director of Commercial & Marketing commented: “The draw has been a huge success again this year and we are delighted to have helped rugby clubs to harness the popularity of Irish Rugby to raise over 650,000 euro.<\/p>\n
“These are challenging times but our volunteer base has shown it is as vibrant as ever in raising these funds for grassroots rugby.”<\/p>\n
“I would like to thank our family of sponsors for the array of prizes and offer our congratulations to all the winners”.<\/p>\n
The draw was overseen by Mr Aidan Connaughton, an independent auditor from Grant Thornton and Mr. Lionel Mahon of Ulster Bank.<\/p>\n
