Cornware products are made from a renewable sources of material – origo (a starch based bio-plastic made of corn and yam), that will biodegrade and not be a burden on society. It is made from up to 70% of corn and yam starch and 30% – pp (polypropylene) pallets for water proofing and heat resistance qualities. PP is assimilated with the corn and yam starch and will therefore fully biodegrade in the right environment within 90 days.<\/p>\n

Cornware disposable is a simple sustainable solution as it need not be:<\/em><\/p>\n

-recycled and hence eliminating the chance of landing in the wrong recycling bin and facility (note: most recyclable foodware becomes contaminated onces it has food scrapping)<\/p>\n

-sent to special composting facilities which are not common and or land in the wrong type of composting facility which is unable to separate the plastic\u00a0 fragments from the other materials components hence contaminating\u00a0 the environment;<\/p>\n

When micro-organism ingests and digests the starch aspect of the product, the polypropylene (PP) content in origo that is assimilated with the corn is fully broken down into compost after 90 days even if it lands in the landfill and produces a non-toxic humus waste that can be used as fertilizers.<\/p>\n
