{"id":33155,"date":"2012-09-29T18:58:45","date_gmt":"2012-09-29T18:58:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=33155"},"modified":"2012-09-29T19:02:05","modified_gmt":"2012-09-29T19:02:05","slug":"mens-rugby-world-cup-sevens-2013-qualifying-continues-in-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/mens-rugby-world-cup-sevens-2013-qualifying-continues-in-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Men&#8217;s Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013 Qualifying Continues in Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013 qualifying continues at the Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration Africane de Rugby (CAR) Sevens in Morocco this weekend with eight African nations hoping to secure a place in the men&#8217;s competition at the showpiece event. <\/p>\n<p>In what promises to be a closely fought affair in Rabat over the two days, hosts Morocco, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Namibia, Nigeria, Tunisia, Zambia and Zimbabwe will be looking to claim one of the two available Africa qualification slots. <\/p>\n<p>Africa is guaranteed four teams in the 24-nation men&#8217;s competition at Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013 with Kenya and South Africa having automatically qualified after reaching the quarter-finals at the record-breaking event in Dubai. <\/p>\n<p>Morocco line up in Pool A and face Madagascar, Nigeria and Zambia on Saturday, while Zimbabwe face Tunisia, Namibia and Ivory Coast in Pool B. <\/p>\n<p>IRB Chairman Bernard Lapassset said: &#8220;The race to secure a place at Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013 is really gathering pace.
