{"id":32586,"date":"2012-09-19T09:00:37","date_gmt":"2012-09-19T09:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/?p=32586"},"modified":"2012-09-19T09:00:37","modified_gmt":"2012-09-19T09:00:37","slug":"erc-statement-productive-erc-stakeholder-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/erc-statement-productive-erc-stakeholder-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"ERC Statement: Productive ERC stakeholder meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Representatives of ERC stakeholders met in Dublin today (Tuesday, 18 September 2012) to begin the formulation of a new Accord which provides for the structure and format of European club rugby tournaments for the 2014\/15 season and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting included productive discussions regarding the future of the club game in Europe with a general resolve among all stakeholders to reach agreement towards a new Accord.<\/p>\n<p>It was decided that all parties would continue the consultative process at a meeting in Rome on 8 October 2012.<\/p>\n<p>With the objective of creating an opportunity for a positive outcome for European club competitions, it was agreed that there would be limited comment from stakeholders at this time.<\/p>\n<p>The current Accord, which was agreed by all stakeholders in 2007, includes a provision for parties to confirm their intention to seek a renegotiation while the structure and format of both tournaments remain in place for a further two years until the end of the 2013\/14 season.<\/p>\n<p>ERC received formal applications on 1 June 2012 from the Federation Francaise de Rugby, the Ligue Nationale de Rugby and Premiership Rugby for such a renegotiation.<\/p>\n<p>ERC Stakeholder Meeting Attendees:<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre Lux (ERC Chairman)<\/p>\n<p>Derek McGrath (ERC Chief Executive)<\/p>\n<p>Rob Andrew (RFU)<\/p>\n<p>Mark McCafferty (Premiership Rugby)<\/p>\n<p>Bruce Craig (Premiership Rugby)<\/p>\n<p>Michel Palmi\u00e9 (FFR)<\/p>\n<p>Olivier Keraudren (FFR)<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Wolff (LNR)<\/p>\n<p>Ren\u00e9 Bouscatel (LNR)<\/p>\n<p>Philip Browne (IRFU)<\/p>\n<p>Peter Boyle (IRFU)<\/p>\n<p>Fabrizio Gaetaniello (FIR)<\/p>\n<p>Orazio Arancio (FIR)<\/p>\n<p>Mark Dodson (SR)<\/p>\n<p>Ian McLauchlan (SR)<\/p>\n<p>Steve Phillips (WRU)<\/p>\n<p>Stuart Gallacher (RRW)<\/p>\n<p>Notes<\/p>\n<p>44 clubs from eight countries participate in the Heineken Cup and the Amlin Challenge Cup annually.<br \/>\nERC\u2019s turnover has doubled since the 2005\/06 season with revenues reaching \u20ac51.7 million (euro) for the 2011\/12 season.<br \/>\nERC revenues include broadcast, sponsorship and match revenue for the Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup finals, and for the Heineken Cup semi-finals.<br \/>\nERC was established in 1995 to organise and to run European club rugby tournaments. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Representatives of ERC stakeholders met in Dublin today (Tuesday, 18 September 2012) to begin the formulation of a new Accord which provides for the structure and format of European club rugby tournaments for the 2014\/15 season and beyond.
