The Ladies are training hard in preperation for the new season under the leadership of Captain Gill Powell and coach John Hunter. <\/p>\n

I XV 26 v Academy RFC I XV 11<\/strong><\/p>\n The 1st XV started off the season with a league 26-11 win at home against Academy 1st XV. Academy took an early lead with a try in the first 10minutes then Ballymoney lead at half time through 2 penalties from Cormac McCartney. Ballymoney controlled the game in the second half with a penalty try after infringements at a 5metre scrum. A further push over try lead to No8 John Richmond touching down. A final penalty from Cormac was cancelled out by an Academy kick which brought the score to 21-11. In the last 10minutes Ballymoney scored again through centre Jonny McLaughlin to make it 26-11. The Toon threw everything in at the end for the bonus point but it wasnt coming.<\/p>\n Unfortunately the 1stXV was the only side to record a win as the 2nds were beaten by Carrick, the 4ths suffered a defeat at the hands of Randlestown2’s and the 3rds lost to Limavady 3’s.<\/p>\n
