John Best awarded an MBE

Banbridge’s Director of Rugby John Best has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours announced at the weekend. <\/p>\n
A farmer for 40 years, John’s MBE recognises his services to the agri-food industry in Northern Ireland. John is well-known in farming circles, particularly in his role as chairman of the Seeds and Cereals Policy Committee with the Ulster Farmers\u2019 Union.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the award in Farming Life, John said: \u201cI was very surprised \u2013 pleasantly surprised \u2013 and honoured.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe award is a reflection on all the people who have worked with me over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n
John’s wife Pat received an MBE from the Queen in December last year, and the Best Family can now look forward to another day out at Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
