Lurgan beat Cobh 75-0, Gorey (the Leinster U13 league and cup finalists) 40-0 and St Marys 55-0 to finish day 1 as the top ranked side out of the 20 teams. Unfortunately the only 8 points conceeded all weekend were enough to put us out 8-7 to UL Bohs in the quarter final. Huge credit to the boys for picking themselves up after that defeat.<br \/>\nThe pain was evident to see in many of the boys faces as they were being talked about as potential winners and they know they didn&#8217;t perform. They showed courage and determination to beat Bective 24-0 and Wilmslow (England) 22-0 immediately afterwards to claim 5th place. The tournament was won by an excellent French side.<br \/>\nOn Friday night a lot of people were asking &#8220;where&#8217;s Lurgan&#8221;, by today lunchtime they knew.
