We got two plaques to keep and an inscription on the overall Winners Plaque which we get to keep for one year.

We won because of the energy shown by the Ladies and the Kids and because we had a very novel Float see www.letterkennyrfc.com/news2/item/st-patricks-day-parade-success.html to promote two Charity Fundraising events, namely White Collar Boxing on May 19th www.facebook.com/pages/Letterkenny-White-Collar-Boxing-Event/106411936059809 in conjunction with the hospice and the new Coastal Cancer Challenge on July 21st http://www.coastalcancerchallenge.com/

The Float had two boxers in a Boxing Ring, one dressed in English Kit and one in Irish kit. The Englishman was very tall an dwell built and the Irish guy was not. In real life the Englishman is a local Bank Manager Derek Plumb and the Irishman a local Chef Martin Anderson. The Englishman was knocked down 32 times. There was a Referee and a Corner man and a Scorecard lady (namely Boyd Robinson). The energy in the ring and around the float was maintained for two hours, after which we all went to the Radisson Hotel to watch England beat Ireland in Twickenham in the Six Nations clash.

The Parade brought many members of the club together from many teams in to one single team which entered a great Community Event and together walked away with the prize. “We all enjoyed the day, the camaraderie and the fact that we were surrounded by so many other colourful entries who all put so much effort in to making this Town event such a success. Well done to the Chamber of Commerce for making it happen and to all the entrants for making it a success.”

RUGBY CLUB WINS 3 AWARDS AT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESENTATION St. Patrick’s Day Parade Winners 2012 Best Band Letterkenny and District Caledonia Pipe Band Business Orchard Inn & Pulse Niteclub Sport Letterkenny Rugby Club Tourism Lurgybrack Open Farm Youth Encore Performing Arts Environment Donegal Travellers Project Respecting and Connecting Project Community Letterkenny Reunion Carnival Gaeil […]

[889
5987,5327,10037,10038,17259,5749,7049,5816,3923
post-26179","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-letterkenny","tag-5987","tag-awards","tag-chamber","tag-commerce","tag-letterkenny","tag-of","tag-presentation","tag-rfc","tag-win
["GET
