\nThe Ireland Under-18 Schools team to take part in the opening game of the FIRA\/ AER Under-18 European championship has been named. Ireland will play Portugal in Ciudad Universitaria, Madrid on Friday. The winner will progress to a semi final where they will face either France or Scotland.<\/p>\n
Ireland are defending the title which they won last year in France and come into the game on the back of a 25-12 warm-up win over Scotland last weekend.<\/p>\n
St. Michaels’ Daniel Leavy has been named as tournament captain.<\/p>\n
Three players named in the original squad have withdrawn, Benjamin Alexander, Saba Meunargia and Rory O\u2019Farrell. They are replaced by Darragh Moloney, Stephen O\u2019Neill and Aidan Slattery.<\/p>\n
