He began explaining the five main areas of the game:<\/p>\n<p>Scrum<\/p>\n<p>Lineout<\/p>\n<p>Ruck <\/p>\n<p>Breakdown<\/p>\n<p>Open Play<\/p>\n<p>Video footage was then shown in real time and then slow motion asking the audience what the offence was and why? The audience showed great knowledge in most examples especially some of our underage boys. It soon became evident to all of how knowledgeable the referees have to be on law and how quickly they have to make crucial decisions that could swing a game one way or another. At the end of the two hour presentation we were all on the same side and left with much more knowledge of the law, how it is interpreted and very appreciative of the referees.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rugby ~ See the Game from the Middle of the Pitch<\/p>\n<p>CDRFC are holding a spectator Rugby Laws information evening in the<br \/>\nCampsie Suite, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehorsehotel.biz\/\">White Horse Hotel<\/a> on Tuesday 31st January 2012 @ 7.30pm  <\/p>\n<p>This will be a fun evening with a layman\u2019s explanation on the basics of law and explain how the referee makes his decisions. How they get it right and sometimes wrong!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presentations will be made by:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>David Wilkinson IRFU Referee Development Officer<br \/>\nDivision One and European official<\/p>\n<p>Michael Black CDFRC<br \/>\nDivision One and European official<\/p>\n<p>Marshal Kilgore<br \/>\nEx Division One and European official<br \/>\nInternational TMO <\/p>\n<p>This is intended on being an informal but informative and interactive evening to hopefully provide some answers to the questions we ask of referees many times during a game and make our Saturdays more enjoyable. <\/p>\n<p>Everyone welcome &#8211;  Male or Female<br \/>\nPlayers, Parents, Supporters or Armchair Spectators.    <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The recent evening for spectators which saw spectators getting a chance to get up to speed with the refereeing of the game.
