\nA hard fought win in Lisburn as both fifteens battled against the elements.
\nLisburn had wind advantage in the first half and turned around 6 \u2013 0 ahead through two penalties.
\nDungannon dug in in second half and three excellent Gareth Graham penalties put them three points ahead.

\nIn the seventy-eighth minute there was a bit of controversy when Brian Simpson went through for a perfectly good try that was disallowed when the touch judge put his flag up for an alleged foot out of play.
\nIt matter naught in the end as Dungannon held on to win by the three points.
\nAnother valuable away win for the IIIs with the evergreen Philip McCammon putting in a man of the match performance.

\nThis match was played in wintry conditions with Dungannon having the benefit of the elements in the first half.
\nThe match started with Colin Scott announcing his presence with a thumping tackle. Although Dungannon exerted sustained pressure on Ballymena for the first quarter hour they had nothing to show for it. Then a neat Mark Salley left footed drop gaol (Dungannon\u2019s first of the season) put points on the board.

\nGannon kept going and on the half hour a break from Ryan O\u2019Neill cause panic in the Home defence. He passed to Cormac Convery, when he was caught five metres short the ever present Adam Boyle was on hand to dive over for the try.

\nTwo minutes before halftime Mark Salley kicked a penalty.

\nAgainst wind in the second half Dungannon were under constant pressure. Jonathan Parr playing his first game of adult rugby was doing well and the utilitarian McElduff settled in at no 6. Julian Knipe was full of praise for his pack that weathered many Ballymena attacks in the second half. Then as the boys ran the clock down rumbling up field the ball was spun through the hands and in an object lesson to all rugby players\u2019 first time passes saw Ryan O\u2019Neill have the relatively simple task of running over in the corner.

\nThis was a difficult hurdle for the IVs and the captain and Derek McMullan did well to assemble the team together and the players did themselves great credit to take the points at Eaton Park.<\/p>\n
