Carrick came back<br \/>\nwell after the bad start but the more experienced Dungannon backs upper<br \/>\ntheir game to run out comfortable winners<br \/>\nDungannon started well when an angled kick by Jaryd Bennett was collected by<br \/>\nDarren Simpson who quickly offloaded for Mark O\u2019Shea to run over for the<br \/>\ntry. Michael Lawton converted with a well judged kick in the third minute.<br \/>\n0 \u2013 7<br \/>\nCarrick quickly replied with a mighty penalty from Jonny Sheriff<br \/>\n3 \u2013 7<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurosportsdirect.com\/index.asp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9533\" title=\"Click Here For Eurosports Direct E-Commerce Website\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/eurosports.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"943\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nA good line break by Peter Smith came to naught due to a lack of support.<br \/>\nThen quickly recycled ball was taken on by Paul Jackson who kept on going<br \/>\nbreaking a couple of tackles before diving over for his first Dungannon try<br \/>\nafter fifteen minutes. Michael Lawton converted with another well judged<br \/>\nkick.<br \/>\n3 \u2013 14<br \/>\nAfter twenty minutes Jaryd Bennett sparked the next score when he broke into<br \/>\nthe Carrick twenty-two with a show and go before taking the tackle and off<br \/>\nloading to Mark O\u2019Shea who went over for his second try.. Michael Lawton<br \/>\nadded the extras.<br \/>\n3 \u2013 21<br \/>\nTwo minutes later Carrick out half Aaron McKinney took the ball on the burst<br \/>\noutside the Dungannon twenty-two and scored a great try under the posts<br \/>\nalthough questions must be asked of the Gannon defence. Jonny Sheriff added<br \/>\nthe extras.<br \/>\n10 \u2013 21<br \/>\nSheriff was first short and then hit the post with two fine long range<br \/>\nefforts before a successful forty plus metre strike on forty minutes. This<br \/>\nwas followed by another penalty in injury time reducing the deficit to five<br \/>\npoints.<br \/>\n16 \u2013 21<br \/>\nA Jonny Sheriff penalty miss at the start of the second half saw<br \/>\nDungannon\u2019s Chris Swann and Paul Jackson run out of defence up to the<br \/>\nCarrick ten metre line.<br \/>\nOn fifty minutes Dungannon benefited from a Bennett touch in the Carrick<br \/>\ntwenty-two. A drive initiated by Steven Sinnamon saw Sinnie finish off the<br \/>\nmove with a final surge. Michael Lawton converted.<br \/>\n16 \u2013 28<br \/>\nFollowing a good Michael Lawton penalty another Dungannon counter attack<br \/>\nfrom Michael and Brian Simpson took play into the Carrick twenty-two.<br \/>\nDungannon maintained field position and following a Peter Smith drive<br \/>\nMichael Lawton went over between the posts for a self converted try after<br \/>\nfifty-five minutes.<br \/>\n16 \u2013 38<br \/>\nCarrick were unfortunate to lose a player through injury but it did not<br \/>\ndiminish their spirit. However the extra man told in the end when Jaryd<br \/>\nBennett burst through and scored a good try on seventy-five minutes. Lawton<br \/>\nagain converted and his immaculate kicking in a tricky cross wind was a<br \/>\npleasing feature of the evening.<br \/>\n16 \u2013 45<br \/>\nAnother Dungannon attack was turned on its head on eighty minutes when Jonny<br \/>\nSheriff plucked a pass meant for Brian Simpson out of the air and ran sixty<br \/>\nmetres for a well deserved try.<br \/>\n21 \u2013 45<br \/>\nA good game to watch with both sides trying to open the game up. Dungannon<br \/>\nhad that bit more experience where it counted with Jaryd Bennett able to<br \/>\ncontrol affairs. <\/p>\n<p>Team: Michael Lawton.
