Gavin Martin missed a penalty, albeit against the wind, in<br \/>\nthe first minute before David Egner was forced to retreat in defence as the<br \/>\nhome side threatened. Elsewhere, Dungannon tried to get their running game<br \/>\ngoing with Paul McKenzie and Stuart McCloskey both stopped on midfield runs.<br \/>\nHowever, it was Rainey who went close following an intercept by Matt<br \/>\nMcClelland and a break from Alan Clarke. For Dungannon, the breakthrough<br \/>\ncame on twenty-one minutes. Ben Howard powered forward and a quickly taken<br \/>\nfree by Ali Birch caught the home side within ten meters. When checked Dungannon moved the ball left for Mark Jenkinson<br \/>\nto touch down on twenty-three minutes. Michael Lawton added the extras.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/dungannon2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.intouchrugby.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/dungannon2.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"dungannon\" width=\"250\" height=\"601\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-15899\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n10 \u2013 10<br \/>\nBack came Rainey with some good forward driving before they granted<br \/>\nDungannon an absolute gift. Scrumhalf, Peter Sciascia tried to run the ball<br \/>\nfrom defence but his pass to Clarke was intercepted. David Egner grabbed the<br \/>\nchance with both hands to give Dungannon a lead at the break.<br \/>\n0 &#8211; 15<br \/>\nRainey were more than happy to be just 15 points adrift at the break but<br \/>\nDungannon were to produce a dazzling third quarter that yielded four tries.<br \/>\nAli Birch ran sixty metres for the first on forty-one minutes before Michael<br \/>\nLawton and Paul McKenzie sent Stuart McCloskey clear. Michael Lawton popped<br \/>\nover the conversion to on fifty minutes.<br \/>\n0 &#8211; 27<br \/>\nThe introduction of Chris Cochrane in the second half was a key factor in<br \/>\nthe next score. Chris broke clear from defence before sending Michael Lawton<br \/>\naway for a seven pointer on fifty-four minutes.<br \/>\n0 \u2013 34<br \/>\nThree minutes later Adam Duhig touched down in the left hand corner<br \/>\nfollowing an angled kick from Jaryd Bennett.<br \/>\n0 \u2013 39<br \/>\nRainey now had a mountain to climb in the final quarter and while they went<br \/>\non the offensive on several occasions they could neither open their account<br \/>\nnor prevent Lawton and Egner from completing their braces on sixty-one and<br \/>\nsixty-eight minutes. Michael Lawton converted his own try while Stuart<br \/>\nMcCloskey added the extras to his try.<br \/>\n0 \u2013 53<br \/>\nThis ended the scoring on what was a satisfactory afternoon for Dungannon. <\/p>\n<p>Team: Mark O\u2019Shea.
