Being viewed worldwide by tens of thousands of people, and receiving a large number of video entries the winner has today been announced. Seven Spanish rugby fans will soon be landing on the shores of New Zealand to experience a luxury 12-day tour of the South Island, including international flights with Air New Zealand, worth $50,000. And of course, the Spanish team will have to face the current Glacier Country Rugby champs at the end of their tour on the number two field … Franz Josef Glacier.
Chris Alexander from the Glacier Country Tourism Group stated, “we have received a large number of entries which were all well produced. However, the ladies from Spain went the next step in the development of their story and the professional production of their video entry, and as a result are deserving winners of the competition”
THE WINNING VIDEO IS BELOW
[youtube By7aWCsBGmc]

Campaign sponsors, including Heineken, Telecom, West Coast Tourism and the 90 business members of the Glacier Country Tourism Group have made the competition an absolute success. Alexander stated that “thanks to our sponsors Telecom, who have provided us with several android phones and 3G data, the winning team will be posting regular updates to the Glacier Country Tourism Facebook page as they enjoy their 12 day tour”. This will enable everyone to view a real time diary of the Spanish teams tour of the West Coast, Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch, along with the multitude of activities they will be enjoying. And of course the Glacier Country Rugby Cup 2011 final will be live streamed. The question is who will walk away with the silverware? The Spanish ambassadors or the local West Coast team with home field advantage.

About Glacier Country Tourism Group
Glacier Country Tourism Group represents over 90 businesses in the West Coast of the South Island and is dedicated to promoting this magnificent part of the New Zealand to the rest of the world.
